How do i lie? You seriously have got to be kidding. I personally talked to one of YOUR people a couple of years ago, and they told me to unload every penny i could get my hands on to bet on a FIXED game. Like an idiot, i believed the guy, (yes, I have learned my lesson, and will never talk to a tout again), and i lost the game that was not even close. If you are purporting that you guys don't lie, then you must think everyone here is a moron like i was. I don't believe that to be the case. At least admit that you guys scam potential clients by purporting that you have info that you dont have and people here might have a little respect for you.

JohnnyD.....

I've never seen your posts, but I assume by your replies you are in this "business."

Aside from your uncalled-for personal slur at jigga, I will give you credit for having the nad to post to this thread.

So while we are here, I must ask.....are you one of those guys that calls up people whose names somehow end up on lists....and try to hard-sell them on your "service" ?? Also....assuming you are selling picks you claim to be winners....are your plays documented anywhere ??

I am not trying to attack you personally.....like I said, I give you credit for even posting to this thread in a place that is clearly VERY unhappy about the existence of "scamdicappers" (myself very much included)....so maybe you could "enlighten" us by telling your side of the story, if you care to.

I haven't cold called anyone in 10 years. I do the 900 number and do a little customer service by myself. My plays are only documented by the people that call the 900 numnber themselves. I only advertise on scorephones and pick phones.

Why is it that i call 213 687 4400 and hear your voice every day telling me that you win at 90% every week? You have seriously got to be kidding. You have a great scorephone, but could you just lie a little bit less about your winning %? It just get old hearing how you run off 8-0 streaks as if they come along every day.

Winninghand.....

Put down your phone and come over to the NBA forum. There are some great cappers there who document their plays daily and two different "contest threads" that show current actual win-loss records....and it's all free !!

JohnnyD......

If you aren't cold calling, that is to your credit, but if you are going around claiming some unrealistic winning percentage, then you really do need to take pause.

----------------------

By the way....about 10 minutes ago I got a call on my cell phone from some scamdicapping scumbag who says in a recorded message about how he has two guaranteed insider locks tonight. I think I'll call the 800 number he gave in the message from my home phone......NOT !!! I wish one of THESE guys had the balls to show up in these forums !!!

Johnny,
How do you lie? Is that a trick question or are you serious?

You exaggerate your record. You claim to be in the book of world records? For what, telling lies? 80 - 90% winners? Please. You pick the most attractive game on the board and come up with a lie to make people call. You call it marketing. I call it lying. Marketing is what General Motors, Pepsi, Geico, etc do. What you do is entertaining to some, but flat out lying. You don't market, you lie. You swinddle the unsuspecting, and take their money.
You are a thief, sorry to break it to you but you are no different than a common pick pocket.

The fact you can actually ask, how do you lie shows that either you have lied so much that you actually believe your own nonsense, or you are plain dumb. You aren't dumb.

Then who was Jimmy DeMarco? He called all the time, and swore at anyone who answered the phone when I wasn't there....he worked for you...the world champion.

One scorephone call back in 1993, and pukes from Jack Price, Ron Bash and Johnny "I don't cold call" DeMarco made my life hell until I changed my number.

Edens you know what tactics you use, admit what your telemarketers do. Why lie about phone lists, cold calls?

We all make mistakes as young gamblers, we all learn from them......but don't lie about what happens.

Guys don't bother with Johnny the Clown. If this is the REAL Edens/DeMarco I commend you for going to Touts Anonymous and getting through your 12 steps but defending your business practices is useless. The REAL Johnny did plenty of damage to plenty of people in his time and didn't give a rat's a$$ about his customers. If this is Johnny you should know better than to expect an iota of respect from this place. There are too many guys capping their a$$es off and grinding out REAL profits...not profits from the land of make-believe where you and Price and Root and Feist and Feiner and Duffy and Warren and the rest of you degenerates live with your records. You're all about propaganda and advertising Johnny...to claim you "work" for a living is a joke.

If this isn't the REAL Johnny Edens/DeMarco than nevermind. Of course the Atlanta locale would make me assume you are who you say you are. Here's a little reminder about who Johnny Edens/DeMarco really is:

Remember 1-900 RIPOFFS?

If you think guys like Feiner and Warren will make you wish you have never installed your phone, Atlanta's John L. Edens, alias Johnny DeMarco, the Babe Ruth of 900 sales pitchers, will make you wish Alexander Graham Bell had never been born. According to published ads and taped phone calls, Edens:

Got on his 800 line and told listeners to call his 900 line for $25, "and if the game loses, there'll be no charge." That, of course, is a lie. Once a call is made on a 900 line, the charge is automatic.
Told customers of one of his phone services that his special guest-selector that day was "a former six-time NBA basketball All-Star who wishes to remain anonymous due to security matters." The anonymous "All-Star" then got on the line and offered his inside information on "three big plays, tonight."
Told his customers on another occasion, "Sporting Illustrated magazine calls the Handicapping Hotline the Number One value in sports." Remarkably, there is no Sporting Illustrated.
Wrote in a print ad, which appeared in the schedule of games he sent out to customers in early 1991, that his service was rated "the very best available by the Interstate Sports Commission, the nation's only legitimate monitoring service." The ad failed to mention that the ISC is owned by a company with which, DeMarco acknowledges, he is "affiliated."
Got on his 800 line in March 1989 and said he had spoken with then N.C. State coach Jim Valvano and had "key" information on the Final Four. Valvano says he has never spoken to DeMarco.

Luckily for all of us, DeMarco/Edens has good intentions. "OK," he says, "so you go berserk on your ads-and some of the those are a little ridiculous-but if you can get people under your belt, you can help them more than you hurt them. Most gamblers are losers. You slow the guy down so he's only betting a couple of games, not the whole board." Hey, if this guy made a hole in one, he'd probably write down a zero.

Oh and Johnny, you never did answer before how is it that Jack Price calls everyone in the phone book as you claim, yet the only people I know he calls are gamblers. How is it that out of all the people in the phone book, ole Jack just so happens to pick out ONLY the gamblers?
That is another lie by you isn't it, Johnny? People call your 800 number and you GIVE the numbers to Jack Price.

Could you just once tell the truth?? It isn't difficult. You try to be the good guy and remove peoples names from the call list, but Johnny you are the one who passes the numbers around in the first place.

Admit it. People call your 800# and you give Jack Price the numbers so he can then call and hound people. True or false? If you say it has never gone down like that, then you are even more or a liar than I imagined, because I know it has and does go down like that right, Johnny?

How do guys like you live with yourselves? If you said it was clear and sunny, I would grab my umbrella.

Hasn't been like that for three years. I will remove anyone from the list who wants off. Have taken off over 60 people since I first posted here and at MW.
As far as the ads go, they are a little stretched. If I say i am 50-50 is anyone gonna call? Come on. I win as much as pretty much everyone else.

If you are only 50-50 then hire some help or stick to doing legit schedules, legit anything.

Sorry, but that is a weak reason to deceive people. Your ads are more than a stretch.

Whatever, it's not my place to judge you. That is for the big man in the sky. Is there a heaven for touts? For your sake, I sure hope so.

How do you want to be remembered? As a con? C'mon....

Well put. Even being a Christian I would have a hard time forgiving some piece of garbage like him. If he don't change his ways I hope he and the rest of em burn in hell.

i put these touts in the same category as the "8 minute abs guy" or the "become a millionare investing in real estate with no money down guy". they all prey on lazy americans trying to get the good life without putting any work into it.

do they lie...yes, they do. is that wrong...yes, it is.

but, i blame their "victims" just as much for being greedy and/or lazy enough to believe that they will get the benefits without the work.

doesn't work with abs, real estate or sportsbetting.

Weekend, it is a shame the financial ruin that these guys cause many people...but.. these same people are the ones this industry feeds on to keep going. For most people the first couple of years betting is just a learning curve and this is all part of it. I remember a bad weekend betting many years ago and pledged to educate myself and get better or stop throwing my money away. Every player must have that epiphany or a lifetime of losing is sure to follow.
