An NBA rep told press, "The NBA will withdraw its pending charge to terminate the Sterlings' ownership of the team. Because of the binding agreement to sell the team, the NBA termination hearing that had been scheduled for June 3 in New York City has now been cancelled. Mrs. Sterling and the (Sterling Family) Trust also agreed not to sue the NBA and to indemnify the NBA against lawsuits from others, including from Donald Sterling."

"If Mrs. Sterling and the Trust specifically agree to indemnify the NBA against lawsuits from others, including Donald Sterling, then, yes, if Donald Sterling sues the NBA over the sale (as distinguished from other types of claims), it would appear that Mrs. Sterling and the Trust would be agreeing to cover the NBA with money from the trust and/or her own personal funds,” added LA attorney Perrie Weiner.

So, in essence, Donald will be suing himself if he proceeds with the lawsuit!

Donald Sterling, the disgraced owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, sued the National Basketball Association on Friday as he fights to retain control of the franchise, while former Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer stands by ready to pay a record $2 billion for the team.
...
If the sale to Mr. Ballmer occurs, it would come at a price almost four times as much as anyone has paid for an NBA team.

Lmao!! Maybe your boy and his attorney are willing to sue themselves...

As part of the sale agreement, Shelly Sterling and the Sterling family trust have agreed not to sue the NBA and to absolve the league of litigation by others, including Donald Sterling. There also is language in the agreement that states Ballmer will not move the team from Los Angeles, according to a source with knowledge of the deal.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver banned Clippers owner Donald Sterling from the league for life in the wake of Sterling's racist comments. Full coverage »

Shelly's husband, Donald, filed a $1 billion lawsuit against the league earlier Friday.

Donald Sterling's attorney, Max Blecher, said he needed to review all the new information before proceeding.

"We gotta sit down and see how all of this affects us," Blecher told ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne. "We have to think through the whole situation.

"[Shelly's] saying, 'If you sue us, we'll have to pay out of our own money.' It's like suing themselves. We have to see whether the law allows that to happen."

Not sure why everyone really gives a Fuk .. But some of you need to tone it down just a little bit.

Thanks

Who says that irony is dead?

Maybe Spermling "wills" ownership to "Stiviano" and she is voted in but is on the outs bc of her comments....... :think2:

V. Stiviano, the woman at the center of the scandal surrounding L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling — who was banned from the NBA after he was caught on tape making racist comments to Stiviano — has now herself been captured making derogatory comments about black people, TMZ reports.

On the video, posted to TMZ, Stiviano comments,”I don't understand black people. You give them a little bit of money, they don't know what to do with it.”

She goes on to opine that black people “just act crazy … they're like, ‘Yo, I wanna put extra rims on top of my rims. And my rims are gonna turn around. I'm gonna call them spinners.'”

Lol, looks like he might not even sue after all. How does 0% success feel? You should have tried to side with rational thinkers, not nutters like Donald Sterling. Kind of a habit you have.
But after six decades together, Shelly Sterling knew her lawsuit-happy husband well enough to know this wouldn't be the end of it. Even as Sterling was announcing his intention to sue the NBA for $1 billion, Shelly Sterling had already agreed to indemnify the NBA from any lawsuits.

In short, she ensured that all costs, win or lose, would come out of the Sterlings' own pockets. There's not much point in a $1 billion lawsuit when bragging rights are the only thing at stake.

Not that that seems to matter to Sterling attorney Max Blecher. When asked Monday by USA TODAY Sports if Sterling was still planning a court fight, Blecher replied in an email, "No firm decisions have been made as of this writing."

Very quickly? Do they not have courts in Alaska? I've seen divorces, property line disputes, etc, etc, etc go on for more than a year...this may be a BIT more complicated than that.

Wasn't very complicated at all. Team has already been sold, was in fact faster than most divorces... lol. Just like I said.
