After speaking to someone that knows Sperling well I've got to change my opinion that this sale is a 100% quick done deal - there is zero language in the NBA bylaws regarding owner conduct that is not directly financial - then the Clippers are owned by a trust which is owned by 4 people - Sperling, his wife and 2 kids - so technically u are gonna penalize 3 blameless people which legally is a hurdle - then there is a potential 200 plus million tax bill which is going to be seen as a penalty on the 3 blameless owners if the team is forced to be sold - then Sperling never met a court he didnt like - he loves litigation - I was told what is most likely going to happen is Sperling will force the other owners to pony up the tax bill and in return he will sell the team - the other owners do not want this negative light
