Speaking of pussies. The president would fit in here well.

In a speech to supporters in Missouri today, President Obama took a few minutes to chide Republicans for forcing him to take the law into his own hands. With a jolly demeanor and uber laid-back tone, Obama made the utterly convincing argument that his opposition should "come on."

"We could do so much more if Congress would just come on, and help out a little bit. Just come on. Come on and help out a little bit. Stop being mad all the time. Stop .. stop .. stop this .. stop this hatin all the time, come on. Let's get some work done together."

Truly an inspired appeal. Surely everyone will fall in line and carry out Obama's wishes now. Between this and last week's "you must be the other guy" sound bite, it is clear that Obama is in a full-out Smarm Offensive. Well, something is offensive anyway.

I learned a knew word today, Smarm. Yo, CW, you may want to add this to your collection.

I don't disagree with you completely here. I think some poster's obsession with you is unwarranted as well. And yep, there are no rules here. But how far should it be allowed to go? Some of us know who Dafinch is off the forum so we're not completely anonymous here.

It's hardly obsession to call out, and point out, a proven terrorist supporter. I'm proud to do it and will continue to do it.

I will. I know the lines of decency in this forum are crossed routinely on a daily basis so it gets a bit murky sometimes deciding whether a poster has gone too far, as it's already a common occurrence in here to do so. But the label of child molester is one of the worst things one person can pin on another. And if it's unsubstantiated it's even more appalling and unacceptable. Ace should offer either proof or an apology.

Whether you agree with Akphidelt or not, it's a mystery to me how HE got barred and this maggot, who has been caught lying about people innumberable times, is NOT barred. I also don't know any other poster who has posted 9 straight posts, essentially answering himself, and clogging up the forum because he's too stupid to put all his thoughts into one post.

Mod response has always been hit or miss in these forums and those who have the finger on the button have their own viewpoints, and personal biases towards posters as well. Mods will ban sometimes based upon who they find more annoying or disruptive, rather than on the content of an individual post. It's more subjective than fair, and sometimes they don't even see offensive posts. I know it's not right but a mod might get more annoyed at Akphi repeating himself a million times over about global warming, Sterling or economics, or "LOL gee you're dumb" than he might at a horribly offensive post calling you a CM. It's not like they had to pass a test

We've all posted here during times of heavy moderation -- with Barman, Wilheim and others. Those were not great times in this forum either. If mods start getting heavy-handed in here they may become frustrated enough to just shut it down. Admittedly we here aren't doing the best job of monitoring our own conduct. What works for me in keeping my own blood pressure down nowadays is trying to avoid getting in an argument on the same topic with the same poster more than once. If I know for certain someone is closed to my viewpoint and I've already had it out with them once or twice it's enough.
