No one is being critical of the pick. It's just talking about the breaks in baseball.

At the risk of adding more clutter, I think the point is a basic request not to turn it into an in-game thread. Jordan17 use to always start in-game threads, which is not frowned upon. Poster's can always do that as an alternative.

how much of a factor is the year long interleague play when you are capping. Do you feel that an NL team or AL team holds a distinct advantage in their respective home stadiums?

I cap those games just as I would any other. I'm not so sure about a particular advantage due to home stadium, but there are certainly factors to take under consideration such as hitters vs. pitchers ballparks, weather, etc. For example, the ball tends to fly out at Wrigley when the wind is blowing hard and out. In order to minimize offense by homeruns in these situations, I like to look at the pitcher and determine whether he is a ground ball pitcher or not. So, that could bring about an advantage. That's just one consideration to look at. Every game is different and there are different factors to consider.

Horns, qquick question.... Do you play big fave to risk your unit play or win?

One unit to win. Usually I'll play -1 to lessen the juice. However, today I'm going on the big ML. I feel confident enough with this one but it is a little risky. If the juice is too high, then I would recommend playing the -1

I understood the point. You might, in turn, consider the effect on a thread of hypersensitivity to any actual discussion of baseball.

Thanks for everyone's responses

Bart: I stick to one unit per play or in other words each play is worth the same amount. In my opinion this is one key to good money management

Still no big plays but I've been watching these first two series and getting a good feel for teams....I should be ready to start seeing big plays next week.

refreshing not to see someone make 20, 30u plays their minimum....its funny how some people need to post these ridiculous unit sizes and skip over the base unit/min play size of 1u.

Good luck

Thanks Gaspipe. Those out there who are playing 20u, 30u, 100u, etc. per game either have a lot more money than I do or are playing with monopoly money.

One play for today

Update:

Brewers +105 (W)
Angels -142 (L)
D'Backs -182 (W)
Marlins +115 (L)
--------
Record: 2-2

Today:

Angels -125

Going back to the Angels tonight. They've put up good offense in the past two games against the A's. In a small sample size, the Angels has hit Griffin pretty good in the past (.292 collective BA). I expect the bats to be fine tonight. However, pitching has killed the Angels in the last two games. Although, I expect Vargas to give them a good start tonight. Going into last year, he had been pretty solid dating back to last August (5 of his last 6 starts were quality starts). In the past against the A's, a large sample size shows they have only hit him .236 BA with a .280 OBP. Also, I like how Vargas did in his first outing only giving up 1 run at Texas. After all considerations, I find the Angels to be a good play for tonight.

I couldn't agree more with this comment. See some posters with 10 unit or more minimums as when they are up it looks more impressive to say up 60 units today, vs up six units. In reality, it makes no sense to post unit sizes like that as you should just divide everything by ten.

Jason pitched great against Rangers opening day. Not sure why they pulled him.
