Regarding Syracuse I think this is a good spot for them. They have had the tendency to rise up the past few yrs and play up to their competition. It was 3 or 4 yrs ago Syracuse went down to a much better FSU team and played them tough throughout the game only to fall in the 4th quarter. 2 years ago at the dome they had nationally ranked Iowa pretty much beaten, but couldn't manage to pump it in from the 1 yard line in 4 downs, and last year went to nationally ranked Louisville and won at there place as 36 point dogs. Now am I saying they will win? No probably not, but they have nothing to lose. The pressure is mounting like no other for Greg Robinson. With that I expect a sense of urgency that we may not have seen. He admitted he was playing the wrong quarterback in Andrew Robinson. He finally benched him against Akron and Cam Dantly and the offense looked pretty good. Dantley has a big time arm, and is also much more mobile than Robinson. IMO and the coaches (to his own fault) we now have the better quarterback in the game. Also one of the only bright spots of the season has been Boona Brinkley who has rushed for almost 200 yards and 2 tds. His backup Delone Carter has returned from a major hip injury and also has been running hard. Call me crazy, but I think this offense will put up some points against a depleted Penn St defense. Their defensive line is thin due to suspension and injury.
The defensive side of the ball is where Syracuse needs to step up if they want to remain competitive. They have some impact players that can make a difference. NW, and Akron are both offenses that can put some points on the board. Syracuse gave up chunks of yardage, but still remained competitive throughout.
I just think 27 points is way too many to be giving on the road. This is Syracuse's highlight of the season. They aren't going to a bowl, they aren't going to compete for a league title, but this is a spot for them to make some noise. This was once a huge rivalry, and many all time greats are going to be at the game for the movie release of "Express". I'm looking for a big time effort for the Orange and going to keep it within 2 td's
