Siena +18.5/+18

Simply think this number is too high. Pitt should win this game, but I expect Siena to compete in this one, and maybe fall by 8-10. There is no way Siena will be intimidated, in fact they will enter this game expecting to win. That's the exact mind set I want of a team I am backing, and to be able to catch 18+ when you think your going to win more power to you. There is no denying Siena has the talent to play with Pitt. They may be a little thin up front to bang with Blair, and Young, but Ryan Rossiter is an experience post player who will not be afraid. In fact against a beast in Brian Williams, and an athletic Vol team, he grabbed 14 rebounds, then another 6 against Oklahoma St. Numbers like that against quality competition shows me that he is capable of holding his own down low. Plus the athleticism of the Siena guards, and forwards help out nicely on the glass. Both 6'5 Alex Franklin, and 6'6 Edwin Ubiles average more than 5rpg. Now I am not saying they will win the battle in the paint, but they should be able to hold their own, and remain competitive. That will be the key to the game. Pitt has a big advantage down low with Blair, and Young, but Siena is athletic enough on the wings to give Pitt problems. Pitt also has the tendency to sleep walk through some games. This is Siena's last big chance to impress before conference play so I am expecting a concentrated effort, and an easy cover.

Arkansas Little Rock +22

There a couple things about this game I like. First I think Little Rock functions better as a team then Memphis. Even Calipari has said that his team is too inconsistent. Evidence of that has been coach Cal's numerous lineups he has used the past 2 games against Marist, and Georgetown. Calipari has desperately been trying to find the right lineup to help make the offense click, and has yet to do so. Memphis has been winning games by simply out talenting teams. They don't play overly well as a team, and don't shoot well enough. Their 29.1% from 3 point range speaks for their shooting woes. UALR on the other hand, is a veteran team that has played together for a while now. Each, and every player knows his role. Steven Moore, and Matt Mouzy are their scorers, and shooters, averaging 15.3, and 14ppg respectively. Mouzy is also one of the top 3 point shooters in the country with a 44.9%, and Moore isn't too far behind with a 39.1% three point %. The rebounders are Mike Smith, and John Fowler. Smith grabs 6.5rpg, and Fowler brings down 5.1rpg. Brandon Patterson runs the point very efficiently, averaging 3.1 apg, and is an excellent defender. Both Fowler, and Patterson do a good job on locking down the perimeter, and being a good rebounding team UALR rarely gives opponents second chance points. That is where I think they can be effective against Memphis. The Tigers only shoot 29.1% from 3, so being able to rebound, and keep the athletic Tigers off the boards will be key. UALR def has the athletes to compete. They aren't going to be totally out manned as other teams that Memphis just pounds with their huge athletic advantage. In fact I think this year Memphis is poor on the offensive end. They only shoot 42% from the field, and for the most part rely on their athletic ability to score, something an athletic, experienced, strong defensive minded UALR team could slow down. UALR operates much better as a team then Memphis, and it could lead to a closer game then some would think.
The other factor that may have an effect on tonight's game is Memphis nationally televised show down set up for Saturday against Syracuse. This is a good spot to catch the Tigers looking ahead to a big game that will be on national tv. I thought this would be a good spot to catch SU looking ahead as well, but after their loss Monday they should wipe the floor with the Griffs . If Memphis is looking past this game in anyways UALR can make this game much more competitive then it should be, which I think will be the case.

No. Illinois +5.5

As much as I am a So Illinois fan they should not be favored by this much in this game. No Illinois is much improved, and So Illinois is obviously down. So Illinois usually strong defense is the reason for this. To give his defense a boost Lowery has inserted Ryan Haire into the lineup in place of freshman Kevin Dillard. I think this was a desperate move by Lowery. Not only is he interfering in the development of Dillard, but he is taking away some much needed offense out of his lineup. Their defensive numbers have improved, but the win column hasn't reflected such. So Illinois has not been good away from home, and they are playing a good shooting team in the Huskies, who shoot the ball much better in their own building. Freshman Mike Dinunnio hasn't been scoring as well as he did to start the season, but being able to play in his home gym should help that. Their best scorer, Darion Anderson, dumps in 19.7ppg, and has been on absolute fire his past 2 games, dropping 32, and 29 respectively. No wonder NIU has put up 93 points against Chicago St, and then 85 against a good defensive team in Little Rock. Their sudden ability to score the ball, against SIU's inability to score the ball should be the difference.

Good info...

and to the guy who asked me a question in Homedawgs thread....Raven Riley

No biggie, like I said I prefer people dislike my card. That is my goal day in and day out. If you are doing this right they shouldn't like your card. It should be ugly. I love backing bad teams.
