This card looks like a minefield today.. Purdue, Uconn, Texas and Illinois State all look like giant traps. I would be very surprised if uconn in particular covers.. top 5 team getting points is never good.

my biggest thing with making plays is i refuse to look at a team jersey. i could care less what the name is across it, and what number is next to it. the quicker you can learn to get pas that the sooner you will elevate your game. not saying you this is just a general statement.

WVU is starting to look like a legit top 15 team. With Ruoff back in the lineup they are showing just how good they can be. The one area that will be key in this game is WVU's ability to rebound. In most cases UCONN would hold a dominate advantage on the glass. Not here. WVU is just as good if not better on the glass. Ebanks does a great job on the glass, and every position on the court hits the glass. They may not have the size as UCONN, but they have the tenacity. Huggins always demands his teams rebound the ball, and they have been doing just that. Both teams have a star point guard. UCONN has Walker, and WVU Truck. Butler has a good job at stepping into the point guard role with Mazzula's injury. WVU hasn't missed a beat, and since Ruoff's return has been shooting the ball extremely well. You just don't come into Morgantown and leave without a fight. The Mountaineers don't expect to lose there, and rarely do. WVU is a legit top 15 team, and top 15 team don't lost at home no matter who they are playing. UCONN is getting a little more respect for the name on their jersey than their actual play deserves. I think WVU will hold their own on the glass, and hold form in Big East play by protecting their home court

UCONN/WVU Under 139.5 -110

Just don't see an intense Big East battle like this getting into the 70's. The intensity level in this game is going to be off the charts, and usually in those cases the offense is what suffers. It's much harder to shoot a ball when you are tight, then it is to play defense. Intensity benefits teams on the defensive end, and the place will be rocking. Both teams rebound very well so i don't expect as many offensive rebounds, that lead to 2nd chance points available here. In almost all of WVU's big games this season the final number has ended below the set total. These big time Big East games are usually defensive slugfests, and expect more of the same here. This one will be playing in the low 60's.

Pretty much the same exact reasoning as above, except these offenses aren't as good.

btw I am very frustrated with my record ytd. I expect it to be much better. I can sit here and bitch about not catching a break because it is the truth. The last time I had a break go my way I can't even remember. I pretty much have to drill every game by 10 points or so to avoid getting screwed in some form or another. I haven't been expressing it, but my frustration level is at an all time high. I feel I have a lot coming to me and plan to go on a serious run. When most tend to do worse when conference plays starts up and the lines tighten I usually tend to do better. I have a few theories behind that. There is no secret that I love playing home dogs in cbb, and with cbb, more than any other sport in conference play these teams no each other so well home dogs seem to cover at a much higher rate. Same with short home chalk. All home teams know they need to protect their home court in conference and if you look at win/loss home splits they tend to hold court for the most part. That is why I think home dogs, and short home chalk in conference play are gold minds. Sure you can't play them blind, but if you pick and chose your spots, and don't get scared of the name on the jersey you should be good. I can't tell you how many times Rutgers has covered a huge spread in the RAC for me the past 5 years or so. Even going back to when Mello was a freshman at Syracuse up until last week at home against Pitt, Rutgers at the RAC has been good to me. So when most feel the lines tighten and it's much harder, I actually welcome conference play, and expect to start catching some breaks and get the units coming in. I would like to have more in my pocket up to now, but I am setting a goal to make at least 60 by the end of the season. For now on you will notice I will have more 4, or 5 unit plays. By now I know these teams inside out, and can almost tell you who I will be taking before I actually sit down and dig into the line. This time of year it's more about situation.

IMO- you have done GREAT WORK here Homedawg...the insight, analysis, the constant questions you take the time to answer....all prolly goes unnoticed by most.....as at times, peeps just EXPECT stuff from you , cuz you are PROVEN as a winner......anyways, you know I got respect for yur skills, and wish you continued success. Any lean on the Mich St. Ohio St. on ESPN tonight?? I want a little action on that game, and only risk 1/3 a Unit on "action" type games, but would like your take on the +10 or -10. Thanks bro & keep doing yur thing.

Stay focused. Agree with what you said about conference play.

I think the play in this one is the under. If I had to pick a side it would be Ohio St. In conference play the intensity level picks up so much, and the offense is the first aspect of the game to suffer. Intensity helps feed defenses, and with such heated rival games such as these unders are great plays. Plus these teams know each other so well the coaches no what is coming. They have game planned for the opposing teams offenses so many times they know just what to do to shut it down. When you give coaches like Matta, and Izzo time to game plan you are in trouble. Both teams also rebound very well so I expect the 2nd chance points to be limited. That means they are going to have to score out of their offensive sets, which is hard to do against such good defensive teams. It is no secret these teams win with defense and rebounding, and expect these teams to really dig in on that end.

GL buddy. Hope to see you around more.

The uglier the card the better. If I ever have a pretty looking card that everyone approves of then I am doing something wrong. I think we are ready to go!
