G/L Tonight HomeD!! I am on the same side w/ you on this one. I think Beckett will be out of there by the 5th. Don't like the under play w/ that reasoning + Sox never get shut out completely. If I was to guess a score it would be 7-3 Rays.Boston got all the breaks and bounces in the first game look for Tampa to seize the momentum going back to Boston on Monday.

Really need the Rays to win as I have them to win the AL and the World Series. After they blew that huge lead in game 5 I have had a bad bad feeling. Anyways I am looking for a low scoring game as they usually are in game 7's. A lot of pressure on every at bat. Pressure is never good in baseball and favors the pitcher greatly. Not to mention these are 2 very very good pitchers

I have thought throughout that Tampa was the most complete team in the playoffs and nothing has changed. I am some what concerned of a let down after winning the AL. You can see by their celebration that a huge Weight seemed to be lifted from their shoulders. However I do think Madden will get them back up by the time the series starts. They are basically playing with house money and have been since the playoffs started.
They will beat the Phillies the same way they won during the season...Pitching and defense. IMO other than Hamels they have a decided pitching advantage, esp in the rotation. The Phils win by outslugging opponents, and they won't be able to do that against the Rays. Philly would have to win by playing small ball. That is hit and run, stealing bases, advancing runners, etc. They simply don't play that style of ball. They have more of an AL lineup than the Rays do. They have sluggers, and very good ones at that, this rotation that Tampa has is not one they have faced yet this postseason. They were able to outslug Milwaukee, who other than CC had less than stellar pitching. Same for the Dodgers. Derrick Lowe would be lucky to be the 4th starter for the Rays.
Tampa on the other hand plays very fundamental. They hit with runners in scoring, advance runners, and play excellent defense. They basically have 3 center fielders in the outfield when Bodelli starts in right. They also have shown the ability to slug in the post-season (Upton, Longoria). We have also seen that they have a countless number of arms they can run out of the bullpen. They have situational pitchers that excel b/c they have bought into their role with the team.
Basically if Madden can get their heads screwed on straight, and have them mentally prepared for this series I don't see them losing. I say they win in 6. I won't even be hedging on my series bet with the Phils as the dog.
