Just a word of advice on the job hunt. I know you said you put out a bunch of apps (I assume via email?), and haven't heard back. If it's been a week already, time to start showing up in person and asking for the hiring manager/general manager and being persistent about it.
How long was your bartending class (a few weeks?) How many graduated? How many times a year do they have these classes? My point being that all these others are out there apping the shit out of places too. You don't seem the type to stand out on a resumé. Get your FACE out there, show them you are seriously looking. And don't stop at the leads and places the school set you up with. Hit every bar in the area, regardless if they're hiring or not.
Just some advice. Managers generally want someone who shows initiative, so be persistent.
