Schilling looking unacelike last couple of starts. Pedro faces young stud tomorrow. Beyond those two, staff is weak. All the BoSox homers can say great deal, Nomar for castoffs just nothing for me. I do not care how many castoffs, only one Nomar. But they tightened D, neglected starting pitching. If Cabrera can pick up his onbase % and figure out how to hit junk, he will be a good fit. Roberts does add depth, but Mientkiewicz may struggle, as he cannot cover better bats in front of him. Just seems like a damage control move to me. They were lucky it fell in place or Nomar would have left for nothing. If people think this was a trade planned, for these guys, keep those hopes alive. Red Sox hours away from doing nothing. So be happy you got 3 players instead of none. But do not expect much. Best Wishes...OF

dave roberts can help Boston, with Nixon being out. But he was not part of the Nomar trade it was a seperate deal.

When the offseason comes, I can't see the red sox seriously considering either player they got for Nomar as the answer at his position. they will look for upgrades.

Red Sox fielding Cabrera and Mientkiewicz while Yanx trot out Jeter and Clark. Both teams need better 1B. You are also right about getting same guys for reduced price offseason. Too late now, but players like this get little interest. Best Wsihes...OF
