Help Please..Need good and fair dentist.

I need a root canal along with a post and cap done on a front lower tooth that is barely saveable. I am looking for a capable and experienced dentist who will not rob me. Preferablly on Mall San Pedro side of town but not necessary, I can drive to La Sabana or Escazu for example. The guy I have is Ok but outrageous price wise (20,000 colonies for filling a simple cavity).

Suggestions appreciated greatly.

I am not cheap but hate getting robbed because I am a gringo.

Nes, I guess your right, I actually paid 80,000cs to have 4 cavities filled (no novacaine). Anyway, I called a few dentists out of the yellow pages and got one estimate of $250 and another of $300 for a root canal, not counting the post and cap.

I guess I will stick with the guy I have.


Take care of your teeth people especially while you are young and they are in good shape. Right now I just have the one bad tooth so I should consider myself lucky for someone in their 60s.

My step-mother-in-law is a dentist, she is really gentle and very reasonably priced but is all the way out in Alejuela, if you are willing to go that far I will give her a ring for you and check pricing.
