'If you take naked pictures of yourself, you should hide your face': Was Reese Witherspoon referring to Blake Lively in her MTV speech?
As she accepted the MTV generation award last night, Reese Witherspoon was widely expected to give a suitably sunny thank you speech.
But amidst the laughs as she took the gong from Robert Pattinson, Patrick Dempsey and Chelsea Handler, the 35-year-old actress surprised onlookers with a dig at 'Hollywood bad girls' who take 'naked cell phone pictures.'
And considering Blake Lively was in the audience after naked photographs - allegedly of the actress - surfaced last week, many onlookers assumed Witherspoon was referring to the Gossip Girl star.
'I get it, girls, that it's cool to be a bad girl,' Witherspoon told viewers. 'But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show.
'When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed.'
She then added: 'And if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people.'
