Any smart gambler would not be greedy and let the house have chance to kill it off if you lose the over.
I hedge bets all the time if the last play can be hedged to guarantee a profit.

Buy half point(-130) to 46 and play it under for 600. If it finished at 46 you win and push you still win the 1400.00. The guarantee is a minimin profit of 620 regardless of what happens.

FWIW Only 3 teams scored over 20pts by the visitor in Tampa when starters played.
The first game of the year was at Dallas with Tampa. That line was 49.
It finished at 19-3.

Dear God. The number of gamblers fallacies in this statement.

Its hard enough to win---if you don't have the fundamentals you really haven't a chance. Hopefully you just do this for fun.

This is about as amateur as it gets...

Guarantee yourself profit and hedge.

Think longterm.
Your statements contradict each other.

Really guys? This is sorta amazing.

Do you guys take insurance in Blackjack also---think long term.

If you are an 80/20 favorite---do you accept a buy out at 70/30? Is that thinking long-term?

Hedge for profit you’re cool with. Unless you’re just cool with letting it ride. Just a matter of how much free $ you’re happy with.

Nothing wrong with a hedge. A dollar to one person is different to another. It’s whatever you’re comfortable with hedge or not

I didn't even look at the above parlay with this discussion. Most of all my hedging involves the futures markets.. If I have a future that is in good position to cash with good odds, and also the favorite , I'm grabbing the pts giving myself a chance for a middle...That's hedging and creating a bigger profit at the same time.
Can always wait for an in game number if I don't like the game number.

Thinking longterm again.

Parlays longterm will lose more than win.

They are called sucker bets for a reason but we all play them from time to time yada yada yada.

Hedging is a smart choice when the opportunity is there. No guarantee the last leg will cash.
