She showed they play, mentioned that the spread was 8 1/2 and said there were a lot of unhappy people out there after the goaltending call.......not the exact words, but that is more or less what she said.

I actually thought Pete Rose DID bet against his own team. That is why everyone was so pissed about it. If he had just bet on other baseball games or against his opponent, I don't think anyone would have care too much.

I don't think so Elk.....the problem the commish had was that since he sometimes bet on his own team and sometimes laid off, the theory was that he didn't manage as hard when money was not at stake and it compromisd the integrity of the game.....besides being 1000% against the rules to bet on baseball at all.

I don't think anybody of any import to the situation accused him of betting against himself and dumping.
