Never had issues in the past & never thought I'd be one having to deal with it, but lately my blood pressure has been very high (both numbers) & it appears I'm staring at a pill a day starting next week after next appointment.

Dr told me it can indeed be reversed but most people don't have the willpower to do what it takes.

Another question i have for those taking meds is did you notice any difference (feeling better in any way) once you started?

Thanks Fellas

(<)<

I take 5mg's Ramipril daily. Pressure down. No difference in the way I feel. Happy when I win. Feel like s*** when I lose.

What's your sugar intake like?

I've had blood pressure problems to the point where I was on clonodine.

When I quit drinking it got good enough that they took me off the meds, but it was still slightly elevated.

Going low carb/sugar got it the rest of the way to where it needed to be.

Doctors are finding that sugar is worse for blood pressure than salt.

I don't eat a lot of sweets & cut back on sodas.

I dont think im near as bad in that area as many.

Rarely drink alcohol & dont smoke.

I think maybe i used to be so very active before & now suddenly past 2yrs its been the opposite sitting too much on my azz like wilbur said.

Late night snacks while watching movies doesn't help either.

Thanks for the info & advice fellas...

All my life I've been in great shape as i played sports & exercised.

Only the last couple of years have i slipped off & yes probably a lil overweight now.

I'm thinking it's worse for ppl who have always kept in decent shape & suddenly they arent.

Probably a lot harder on your body & like a shock ro your body vs someone who has always eaten freely without the worry of working out...

how old are you? you basically just described me. I take bp med now. I don't know what it is since my wife made me got to the dr last yr and gets my med etc. can't say I feel better by taking it but I think there is a peace of mind if you will by taking it. just go to the dr and see and do what he says. exercise can't be bad. do something whether it's walking or whatever just get the blood flowing. most importantly we shouldn't take it lightly. I lost my best friend 4 yrs ago at only 38 from a heart attack. good luck to you and go see the dr. in fact I would suggest that everyone go get an annual checkup regardless of age.

I just started taking Valsartan 2-3 months ago (40mg), I hate meds, if I don't have to take them I wont but I'm at that age I guess I have to now, sucks...

I don't drink soda, sweet tea, fast food, stay away from salt.... but my doc put me on it until my next visit

I look at what my parents take and I cringe, 7-8 pills a day

It's easy to get a high reading at the Dr

What you eat drink or do before you go get it read will effect the numbers

Try taking cinnamon pills. It will bring down your blood sugar levels which will in turn reduce your BP. Works for me.

You have to get cinnamon from Ceylon. The cheaper Cassia cinnamon will not work.
