Has everyone started to realize we’ve wildly overreacted to this situation?

Don't you love this bullshit? It's like people are making up the rules as they go. We had a lady on the local news that was fuming because some guys were playing golf. They showed these guys and they were like 50 feet away from each other. And the news guy was like..."yeah, some people just don't get it". Get what? Sounds to me like they are well beyond the guidelines set. But yeah, I know, the doomsday group say the virus is in the air...EVERYWHERE! Ok, well if that's the case, why is anyone even bothering to keep any distance at all? Not to mention, at what point did this thing become a death warrant?

Straight from the horse's mouth (for those that think they are the end-all-be-all)

But for the majority of people who become infected, the coronavirus brings only mild symptoms, such as cough and fever.
WHO says those that experience mild symptoms typically recover from the illness in about two weeks, while those who experience more severe illness could take up to six weeks to recover.

It's funny, all I've been hearing for the last 2 weeks is "well the WHO says this or the WHO says that". Death estimates were in a range of 1.2 million to 2.2 million. Now Fauci says 100k to 200k. Are all these experts everyone was quoting suddenly wrong about everything?

And you never answered the question Bengals. Where the hell did you get this special May 1 date where everything will be fine and we can all go back to our business?

And there you have it. Who could complain about that? Oh wait. Don't answer that otherwise we'd have to check Timmy's ignore list, in addition to some of the other morons in this thread.

We already know that the death numbers are tainted in Italy. So that is not anywhere accurate.

Move along with your propaganda Disingenuous person

U.S. reported more than 30,000 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The other thing the update doesn't talk about is of the .0009% that statistically will die from those 30,000 that contracted it, only .00018 will be under 65 years of age (so roughly just over 5 people). But I digress.

.0009% of 30000 is .27.

LOL, actually let's correct that (forget that last post). I was off by one zero on my first post.

320,000,000 (people in the United States) / 30000 (new people that contracted disease) = .009% total new cases as a percentage of the total population

1% death rate = .00009% of 320 million or 28.8 deaths

28 x 18% (people under 65) = roughly 5

There you go

Shit, lol. Did it again. 288 deaths, roughly 50 under 65. I shouldn't do this shit before coffee. Bottom line is it sucks to be over 65, but overall I think most would agree the economy shouldn't be shut down because of it. Or do you think it's worth it because of your political bias?

Prob work for labor force anyway

Yep, the fact of the matter is at some point the faucet is going to be turned off. Maybe a better way to go would have been those that are over 65 and freaked out can self quarantine themselves. Get the youngen's back to work and they'll be happy to hand deliver items to you so you don't have to go out. Most of the fear mongering on the news is one city...New York. And not everyone is in the ICU (as the media would like people to believe). Many are just sent home and told to self quarantine. And has been said so many times before and has been proven by the numbers, the virus IS NOT A DEATH WARRANT (as much as these clowns here want to pretend it is). It's actually a relatively small percentage. And for those that don't seem to understand this, the government routinely makes determinations on what is an acceptable level of death as a matter of policy and we move on (probably why there has not nearly been this type of concern from other infectious diseases). The reason this thing gets so much play is there isn't a vaccine. After that, somebody is going to run some numbers (maybe they say the 100k Fauci predicted is acceptable and this thing is over).

The more people with common sense that you ask will disagree though.

My political bias has nothing to do with it, and I really don't think most will disagree with the measures that have taken place thus far. This thing is obviously pretty serious. Every major sport, countries, states, counties, etc. would not be being shut down if it wasn't.

Ok, so are you disagreeing with the fact that the overall numbers are a small percentage of the population despite the fact that you, and the usual suspects keep trying to throw out numbers instead of using percentages for sensationalism purposes (which I think speak volumes as to the political bias)? And that you and the usual suspects keep trying to imply that this virus is some death warrant, when you know damn well it isn't (especially to people under 65)?
