Having problems eating and pains in stomach. Have had this problem for years. But know it is getting really bad. Can't eat without burping my food down. Problems going to the bathroom, coughing up a lot of phlem .

got to see a doctor. ASAP

possibly the following, as jamesbong noted (hopefully, nothing more serious) ;

http://www.uptodate.com/contents/helicobacter-pylori-and-gastroesophageal-reflux-disease

if so, make sure this is ruled out/tested for (GERD and sleep apnea have a strong association) ;

alcohol and NSAIDS will likely grossly aggravate your condition -- are you taking over the counter pain medication like Aleve, Motrin, Advil? If so, stop. Take Tylenol instead.

Yes...best thing for me is the generic pills Walmart sells, works better than Prilosec, etc ever did and it's like $6 for few hundred pills. I pop 2-3 a day.

I was told along time ago you should NOT sleep on left side, too much weight on your heart.

Huh? What r u talking about . Are the pills you're taking Rx'ed ? If it's the same med at the SAME DOSAGE then they're identical . You may be taking a different med , or same one at a higher dosage . Prilosec = omeprazole (generic ). Is that what you're taking ?

K, that's not the same medication as omeprazole . Kinda like brother and sister trying to reach the same goal ; in this case , decrease acid production . Glad its helping you and is economically more feasible . Keep in mind , neither ranitidine or omeprazole treat causation ; that is, WHY is the stomach ' overproducing' acid. Treat causation and the problem disappears forever . Stated differently , both medications r band aids

You might want to look into getting a wedge pillow. Sometimes they are called acid reflux pillows. Alternatively, you could raise the head of the bed a few inches or more by putting bricks or wood under the supports so the bed is on an angle. The left side thing works for you because it likely positions the opening of your stomach at an angle that would minimize or prevent the acid from refluxing. Angling the bed or a wedge pillow should get the same while being more comfortable for your spinal alignment.

start drinking CLUB SODA ASAP.

It has eliminated my Acid reflux completely, helped my stomach digest all foods, no headaches, etc.

I am addicted. love it and with ice and a slice of lemon, it is the secret sauce for DELSOL II
