Apparently I was living rent free in the Useful Idiot's head for the last two months (that brings a smile to my face). He's good at moving goal posts, but not so good at remembering that his original metric was deaths. And despite the increase in hospitalizations, there still is no surge in deaths. He's got no "gotcha" right now. Obviously it needs to be monitored because deaths have started to edge up and Abbott is taking a measured approach to it which is admirable. The bottom line is the Useful Idiots will always say it's a bad time to open (they just have no idea when a good time is and just give some ambiguous comment without any specificity at all...a convenient position so they can continue to be critical).
Deaths:
W/E 4/30 221
W/E 5/7 191
W/E 5/14 243
W/E 5/21 224
W/E 5/28 161
W/E 6/4 166
W/E 6/11 153
W/E 6/18 185
W/E 6/25 191
Anybody else seeing a surge? Me neither.
I'm not too concerned about his media BS, just the most relevant numbers. Since most of the new entrants are young, they will be non-events. The only question is obviously if they spread it to others. But the numbers aren't showing anything yet. And as it is, we are still the 2nd most populous state in the country and 99,992 out of every 100,000 people have survived this virus. But yeah, everyone should run into the closet and hide because this Useful Idiot says so.
