Drunk, stoned and talking on a cell phone ... not exactly on Page 1 of the "How to Drive at Night" driver's manual.

I was just about to post something very close to this. How dumb

p.s. You forgot to add speeding to the list

Happens everyday....sad thing is you don't have to be drunk, cell phones are the culprits at times....just gotta be a safe driver and to be on the alert of other assholes on the road....JMO

Him talking on the cell phone probably had more to do with the accident than the drinking. Its a sad event but there is no lesson to be learned from this - none whatsoever. Too many people in this country try to connect events like this to larger issues in society, there is no connection. He was drinking , tired and talking on his phone, happens every day in every town and its not going to change - ever - so get over it people.

now i know why he did not want a cab i dont think they will let you hit a pipe in the cab. speeding on that interstate is not unusual quite honestly 68 is about the normal speed people drive.

Anyone give to the Josh Hancock memorial fund? Why not? He killed himself by driving drunk. Oh, he also had weed in the rental truck.

Glad he just killed himself and didn't pull a Leonard Little by killing an innocent woman/wife/mother of 3 children.

Amen!!! Too bad the fuc#er didn't suffer before he croaked. No sympathy for dickheads like that. At least there is one less douchebag off the road that could have killed innocent people.:bigfinger

Video is not the greatest but you see his headlights about the 2 minute mark and run into the back of the tow truck. Btw, How heavy are those trucks? It looks like the tow truck didn't even move when he cured his drinking and driving problem.

Him talking on the cell phone probably had more to do with the accident than the drinking.

From http://www.science.org.au/nova/052/052key.htm

"...a BAC of 0.05-0.l can decrease perceptive abilities to such an extent that reaction time is slowed by up to 20 per cent."

So we can estimate that his reaction time was quite possibly slowed somewhere between 30 and 60%..BEFORE he picked up his cellphone to arrange to meet up with the chick at the NEXT bar.

"...the risk of involvement in a motor vehicle crash in which one or more people are killed or require hospital treatment doubles with a BAC of 0.05 and increases more than four-fold with a BAC of 0.12."

I wonder what the risk is when your BAC is .157? Apparently high enough that he couldn't beat the odds twice in three days.

Its a sad event but there is no lesson to be learned from this - none whatsoever.

Lemme help you out on this one...LESSON= It's really BAD idea to drive when your drunk, tired and talking on your cellphone.

Too many people in this country try to connect events like this to larger issues in society, there is no connection.

Tell that to the 16-17 thousand people in the US who will die in alcohol related traffic deaths this year (that's been the range every year since 1993).

He was drinking , tired and talking on his phone, happens every day in every town and its not going to change - ever - so get over it people.

I'll bet you'd be singing a different tune if it was one of your loved ones his completely thoughtless and irresponsible behavior killed.

Yours is quite simply one of the most shortsighted and just plain dumb posts I have read in a long time.

let me help you with your problem forest. No one cares what your opinion of hancock is, or of drinking and driving. Wishing the world is different and that everybody lived their lives the way you think they should isnt going to make it happen. People drink, people drive , people do drugs, people cheat on their spouses, people speed when they shouldnt, etc, and thats not going to change... EVER... do you understand? Talking about how terrible hancock was or how awful and misguided it is that people drink and drive is just plain foolish(stupid). I want you to sit down, and think about how you will never have any say, any influence, over anything other people do. do you understand? We all have free will Forest. Some of us will make what" You ". think is a correct choice and some wont. You are one of billions of people on this planet and your opinion does not matter to anyone but yourself and perhaps a few others. When you stop trying to control the actions of others and start living your life as you want to, you will be a free man.

That video TTinCo posted is unbelievable.

It's as if he doesnt even see the truck, he totally just sails right into it head on at speed.

Rest in peace Josh Hancock, I wish it didnt have to cost you so much to learn the dangers of drunk driving.

The idiot could have hurt or killed innocent people and LaRussa is no better based on what we know about him.

Before you ask, I don't drink, so no, i've never driven while impaired.

you know what they say, "i feel sorry for people who dont drink, because when they wake up, that is the best they will feel all day."

they said the lady he was on the phone with was asking about tickets for sunday nights game. i always call people at 1230 am to do this. look he definitely made a fatal mistake but people should be outraged just as much at the fact they dont care to stop it i am talking about lawmakers. it would take away too much money to seriously try to stop driving under the influence. quite frankly i wish they would go after cell phone users and blue haireds driving as much as they do driving under the influence.i know of 2 old people in the last year that have driven through the front glass of businesses. just my opinion

Is Larussa still threatening to bash people if they report that the drunk was drunk?
