Wow, didn't think buying a 1/2 pt on a major wager was such a tremendous faux pas. If you had a lot of your money on a gm, wouldn't you want every advantage you had, regardless of how confident you were? I'd say if you're confident of a win, why not buy the 1/2? It's going to win anyway, so what's the extra juice matter? But if by some "miracle" your GOY becomes a close gm (by major injury, fluke plays, or plain bad capping), that 1/2 could very much matter. I think it's smart betting, and he proved it tonight. My own GOY was the NYG over WAS several wks ago, and I bought 1/2 pt to -3 for that one. You just never know what might happen. I think you should ALWAYS buy the 1/2 pt if you're getting/giving 3 or 7 anyway, especially at even juice.
Congrats Ginseng, I bought the 1/2 too and cashed. CHI kinda blew it anyway, so it shouldn't have been that close.
