If someone mocked me in public, and I sat there in shame taking the heckling without so much as a reaction, then ran home and logged onto the RX to make my debut post crying about how someone just made fun of me, yeah I'd probably feel like a steamin pile of shit too.

I honestly don't know what the right thing to do is here. I think racism is unacceptable....and to confront racists is likely to fuel their hatred more and violence is rarely the answer. And to laugh off racism to me sounds absurd. Being from Hawaii I guess I just imagined you'd be more sensitive to the diversity out there but I guess you take that for granted. Jokes are one thing, what happened to OP was not a joke...let it go, if he can, yes....but I would not "laugh this off" if I were him.
This guy was a victim of racism and you pretty much called him a pile of shit cause he didn't stand up to the guy (and girl) to possibly get seriously injured....to me that is ignorant.
