GOP senator's anti-gay comments fuel calls for his resignation

much of this stuff is being heard in the courts now.....do i agree with santorum.....absolutely not.....does he have the right to say what he said?.....maybe not....not in america,anyway.....things have changed....those that bitch about their right to speak, like tim robbins, probably believe santorum doesn`t have the right to have a non-politically correct opinion on a subject like this....even though some states do have archaic laws stating essentially the same thing....

a stupid statement from santorum.....but,like it or not,he has the right to state his opinion....

and much like tim robbins,he`ll have to pay a price publicly for what he said....that`s life in the big city...

Interesting privacy issue topic...

Question: You have a wife, a 15 year old son, a 14 year old daughter, and a 7 year old son. You are the average, morally traditional American. You have a house with 6 bedrooms and you decide you want to rent it out. A man rents the room and you sign a lease. Two months later, this man openly admits he's gay and invites his male lover over and wants him to spend the night.

You mean to tell me that even though they will be doing sexual acts in the privacy of their own room that it's not going to disturb the moral fiber of that family? Would you mind, even though your 7 year old son's bedroom is right next to theirs?

What the senator said is that he respects their rights and their orientation, he does not except their lobbying to repeal state laws that prevent moral decay.

Does a man or woman have a right to beastiality just because it's their "orientation" and done in the privacy of their own home? If that's a sick analogy, it's because you have a moral repulsion to that type of sex act, just as heterosexuals have a moral repulsion to sodomy between two men. The arguement is no different, privacy. Do we give them a right to marry? Where does it end is all the Senator is saying.

Also if a guy wants to **** a sheep in his living room,I don't care as long as he closes the curtains.I do however feel it should be a pretty one and he should buy it dinner afterwards.

Nice point Gargoyle.

Take that same situation of the homos in the bedroom and things get really kinky between the two and one ( the male ) has the plastic bag over the other ( the female ), it Thursday morning of course so this is the way they'de outline it, and the guy tries to knock him out by sufficating him - but not killing him. Of course this female on Saturday evenings has aids but does not what it in the anus on Satudays because something happeded ten years ago that was so traumatic mentally that he had an anxiety attack and sought therapy for eight years as a result and his little black poodle died on ..........

MORAL OF THE STORY - DON'T LET FUDGE PACKING OCCUR IN YOUR HOME. WE HAVE THAT RIGHT MY FRIENDS

FSB,
Jackie Robinson didn't CHOOSE to be black. He was up against a terrible injustice from that time period. No comparison.
Homosexuality is a CHOICE. And the military can choose to not accept it from their soldiers. You know how the military sort of works; conformity, unity, and all that stuff. Doesn't really work that well with individuals coming on board that want to make their own rules. If you can't conform to the ways of military service, you have the choice of not serving or just keeping your mouth shut.

i`m not so sure ,tubby.....we all grew up with kids that would rather play with dolls or jumprope than play football and baseball....i really don`t think they chose to be that way....i think it`s physiological....maybe some genes got a little screwed up.....

i think it`s a bit more obvious with some hard core butch lesbians....take a good look at them and tell me it`s a choice.....they are more man than woman...

who the hell,if given the choice, would choose to be that way?....

and there are many examples of gay behavior in the animal world....

not a shot at you...we agree on most things...i just don`t think that most of these gays and lesbians are choosing to be that way....obviously,there are no absolutes....

sphincter (appropriate screen name for topic)lol

many examples of gay ANIMAL behavior or GAY animalistic behavior?

Why do dogs lick their balls? Because they can.

Straight man: I don't have a problem with myself wacking off.

Gay Man: Oh really

Straight man: But I do have a problem with YOU wacking me off.

Gay man: What if we were on a stranded island and you had no hands?

Straight man: Are your hands soft?

gargoyle,

the leasing party must still abide by certain rules. I wouldn't want a heterosexual male bringing home women every night if I had small children.
But NOT because its wrong. There's nothing wrong with it. I would worry about allowing strangers who aren't bound by a contract in the same house as my family.

RFC,

1st response, I agree if there are certain rules than parties must agree. Remember: this was a right to privacy vs moral decay question/scenario.

2nd question: It was a joke. However, based on default, you may want to ask that question to someone in prison.

True. And in private morality cases, how do you determine intent?

A homosexual would be hard pressed to prove in court that the leaser had actually discriminated against him.

It sounds to me like he's saying that he doesn't care who's gay, but he does agree with it being illegal for them to have sex because it goes against his view of family values. He is of course entitled to his opinion and his right to free speech. It's up to the public to decide if those opinions make him fit for office or not.

It also seems to be that he needs to study history.

"Every society in the history of man has upheld the institution of marriage as a bond between a man and a woman. Why? Because society is based on one thing: that society is based on the future of the society. And that's what? Children. Monogamous relationships. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality."

I can't remember off hand, was it the Greek or the Roman soldiers that considered their wives to be for procreating and raising children but slept each night with the gay lover and considered it a great honor to die for their gay lover in battle?

Tubby,

Are still reading news papers from the 60's or something?
"Jackie Robinson didn't CHOOSE to be black. He was up against a terrible injustice from that time period. No comparison.
Homosexuality is a CHOICE."
Aside from being completely illogical to say that being gay is a choice, DNA mapping has shown that idea to be fallacious.

Kaya man,
I guess you beleive in "the big bang theory" too. If a man chooses to tamp another man's ass, that is a choice. Sure, I know guys that obviously fit the mold of someone that may fall in your "gay gene" category, but they have not chosen male partners. With some guys, its really a big joke. Your wife says, "He's not gay, he's just feminine." And you reply, "Oh yeah, he's gay. He just doesn't know it yet." Biological or environmental?? I don't know. But I do know that everyone can make their own choice on how they lead their lives (or sex lives).

Homophobia in western society is a byproduct of religion, mainly christianity.

The Romans and the Greeks shagged pretty much anything and no one gave a rats ass.

Its a christian legacy, nothing more, nothing less.

Tubby,

I appreciate your input but that is incorrect. As a teenager in rural, redneck PA I fell into the mentality of being a homophob also. But due to a close relation coming out of the closet I was forced to change my views or write off a family memember. That's why I've heard and read a lot of views on this. There is one simple explination that says it all. Two boys hit puberty, they're looking a nudy mags, first Playboy, one boy gets a stiffy, the other boy nothing, then they look at Playgirl and it flip flops the first boy feels nothing the second gets a woody. That's not a choice.

Kaya,I am in total agreement. No difference then prefering Brunettes to Blondes.Something we don't decide. The best way for me to describe it,is a man's ass a woman's ass are radically different and I don't think we have a choice as to which one turns us on.
