agrred HC, Cantlay seems like a good guy, i knew nothing about him. I agree with much of what he said ,kudos for him here;

"I am going to give it back to the people that made it possible in some way, shape or form. I won’t take any of the PIP money," he said. "I think it’s kind of ridiculous and I think it’s, when I said there’s a symptom of a larger problem, I think that’s exactly what I’m talking about."

I dont agree with him in the sympathy for DeChambeau part- lot of it is self-induced. Bryson never should have responded to Brooks, he did tho not surprinsginly , as he's very much a 'knee-jerk reaction' kinda guy. He lowered himself to Brooks' childish level-reap what u sow.

I thought Cantlay handled himself with class last Sunday regarding the incident on the 14th fairway when Bryson said ; 'stop walking Patrick' . lol. Cnatlay made nothing of it, didnt rattle him, and after the tournament refused to make a big deal of it.

DeChambeau , imo, needs a bit of growing up. He didnt have to freak out like that on Cantaly, just move off the ball. He didnt have to take a shot at Cobra Golf and blame the driver at the British Open. One thing after the other with this guy.

a) improve course management . he hits driver when he doesnt need to hit it, when risk -reward says hit your 3 wood 285yds in the fairway
b) more calm , less emotional on course. Just seems like a spaz out there at times. Hit an errant drive last week and the mic caught his reaction; 'why is it goign left'. LOL, u for real guy?

Go Rahm!!!!!!!!

havent had a bet on Rory in mths HC, he loves this place so maybe..gl. He and JT are bipolar on the greens

When you think you hafta bomb every tee shot, and then you miss putts you should almost always make, it simply shows you aren’t mentally ready, may never fully be…

Bryson has what it took to get in shape and take his game to the next level, but it appears mentally, he may be tapped out…

he could be Matt, may need a trip to a sports psychologist's couch? Horrific back 9's at the US Open, St. Judes and a 6 footer straight uphill in last weeks playoff to win- pulled it. With that said, give yourself enough times to win and eventually ya win. Nicklaus finished 2nd or 3rd -27 times at majors over his career.

..................

Solheim morning session is done and wow, Euro beatdown. USA was a -200 fav to win this. Average world rankings for USA is 24th, Euor is just over 40. Not playing out so far.

Pedersen/Hull pairing should be kept for the afternoon , imo. Both looked good. they were 2 down with 4 to play and won outright! Hull is a fuckin' bitpull .They got help from Amatore--shes a fairway machine off the tee- gag at 18, pushed into the fairway bunker with a fairwood in her hand.

D Kang looked terrible, do they sit here?

afternoon coming up, USA girls need to battle back...

after day 1? well its the largest Euro lead in the history of the Solheim Cup, lol. The Euros came to play .

Nordqvist/ Castren (swede and a fin) were unstoppable , 2-0 . Nordqvist is no spring chicken think they may rest her for the afternoon. This duo goes out again for fourballs Sunday morning .

P Hurst's pairing of Harigae and L Thompson was a flat out disaster . She will sit J Korda yet again for Sunday morning action? wow . Altomare was 0-2 and clearly leaking oil late today with a two-way miss off the tee and she goes out AGAIN for fuorsomes ? okie dokie Pat. Harigae was not comfortable out there,.......a captains pick, do they play her in the afternoon? i'd hide her , lol

bottom line USA needs their horses to produce Sunday or this shit may get ugly- Kang, L thompson, N Korda need to produce. Salas/Kupcho Vs Nordqvist/Castren is a big match for the Americans , match of the day Sunday morning

HC when i hit the sac the Euros were -150 to win (TIE is no bet) @ Bet 365, they r now -300 live, lol. lots of golf to be played yet

N Korda is Wolrd #1 and playing like a 6-handicap. Pulled hydrid off tee at 1 into a fairway bunker, pushed 4-footer at 3, chucked chip at 7 . This is unbelieveable.

Castren and Maguire r both rookies , combined 4-0 so far and today neither can miss a shot. They have Maguire listed at 5'6? dunno ...maybe on her best day

I kinda wanna try those Jumbo Max grips, but having Douchebeau as the only spokesperson hasn’t allowed me to pull the trigger, yet…

What’s you guys favorite oversized grip. Looking to hopefully ease some hand pain I’ve been having for weeks after rounds. I grip the club too tight in general, and just like the feel of larger grips, even though my hand size may not say so…

lol

https://southamptongolfclub.com/benefits-of-oversized-golf-grips/

i tried a midsize grip on the driver as my miss is a hook, that can turn into an ugly snap hook ugh. The idea is it quiets the hands. I didnt like it, changed shafts instead

try going to your local golf store and see what they have to say, they may have some irons with a midsize or larger size grip for yuo to try, even grips with different firmness --gives you an idea of feel. The jumbo grips are crazy big .

as a side, Bubba Watson uses a midsize grip with 12 wraps- gotta be just short of jumbo. Keep in mind he's a very handsy player

12 wraps on a midsize?!? Wow, 4 wraps turns a reg grip into a midsize, so his is probably more than jumbo...

I play with 4 wraps on a standard now. I don't like it, it did nothing for me. I don't know why I let the fitter talk me into it because I knew it wouldn't as I already have a few clubs with midsize that I don't think is enough...

The Winn with less taper look pretty cool and a good price. I may try a Jumbo Max with no taper on my driver as I've always like the baseball bat fell and think that is what I'm missing. Gonna research this bubba thing as I think what he does is right up my alley, thanks...

its game on at Inverness. What a beautiful course it is . I owe Altomare an apology, so solid this morning . Kudos to Kang. I think N Korda , Nordqvist and Castren all sit in the afternoon. Kupcho/Salas gotta go back out. I'll miss all the action..

fuckin Cantlay, lol. Kudos, how about the tee shot at 18 after making bogey at 17?

how about the show the girls r putting on? Singles tomorrow : Euros 9 , USA 7 (keep in mind USA was -200 to win this event). Not much seperates these two teams. And if history is to repeat itself the Americans are in trouble tomorrow;

singles action the last 5 Solheim Cups

2019- Euros 6.5, USA 5.5
2017 - Euros 6, USA 6
2015 - Euros 3.5 , USA 8.5
2013- Euros 7.5, USA 4.5
2011- Euros 7 , USA 5

needless to say the Americans need a 2015 repeat. They must win outright, a tie and The Euros r champs. No lines out

Hurst took a shot today and paired two struggles rookies: Noh, Harigae . it worked. Harigae carried Noh, she was fantastic today. She's a great story-- from near broke and ready to call it quits 2 yrs ago to making the USA Ryder Cup team, how about that?.....the Euros have let a rookie play in all 4 matches and she has been fantastic; L Maguire is 3-0-1. her stats on tour r solid, showing her worth under the heat. She is a fantastic putter. Add Irish grit and we have a bulldog !!

euro players that look good overall going into singles : Pederson , C Hull, Maguire, Madsen

for the Americans Kupcho simply carried Salas this afternoon (given Salas is heavier set thats a tall order @)). Noh has not looked good for two days, she's a heck of a talent mayeb she plays free golf tomorrow--just let it go!!

for all the marbles Monday;

12:05: Anna Nordqvist (EUR) vs. Lexi Thompson (USA)
12:15: Madelene Sagstrom (EUR) vs. Ally Ewing (USA)
12:25: Leona Maguire (EUR) vs. Jennifer Kupcho (USA)
12:35: Georgia Hall (EUR) vs. Nelly Korda (USA)
12:45: Celine Boutier (EUR) vs. Mina Harigae (USA)
12:55: Nanna Koerstz Madsen (EUR) vs. Austin Ernst (USA)
1:05: Matilda Castren (EUR) vs. Lizette Salas (USA)
1:15: Carlota Ciganda (EUR) vs. Brittany Altomare (USA)
1:25: Sophia Popov (EUR) vs. Megan Khang (USA)
1:35: Mel Reid (EUR) vs. Yealimi Noh (USA)
1:45: Charley Hull (EUR) vs. Jessica Korda (USA)
1:55: Emily Pedersen (EUR) vs. Danielle Kang (USA)

Hurst is stacking the front, clearly. The Eruos leave two steady players to anchor the final two matches in Hull, Pedersen

some notable matches:
Nordqvist Vs Thompson- Ana won the British, the seasoned vet goes off first. Hurst hoping Lexi gets the Americans off to a good start.

Maguire Vs Kupcho !! what a match!

haha, we see it the same

Xander, Spieth (form has dropped a bit, but this is deserved and he's won at Whistling Striaghts), Finau all r no brainers

Burns , Scheffler for me as well. BOTH r birdie machines. Burns is 5th on tour in birdies/round, Scheffler is 7th. This is great for fourballs. Burns isnt afraid to lose, confident kid. Scottie is a great driver of the ball

the last pcik for me is tough. Given both burns/scottie rookies i'd rather go with a veteran, experience. Give me Patrick Reed-loves the event, career 3-0 -0 in singles matches .

Knew I was forgetting someone. I probably leave Reed off personally, form has been pretty poor and he's not exactly well-liked. Also not a great course fit; pretty short. All that said he will probably get chosen.

If Brooks isn't healthy I'd slot in Berger. Just one man's opinion.

Scottie has already consistently turned up big in big events; guy is a top 20 machine in the big events. He was also very impressive in match play at the Dell. Burns somewhat quietly turned in a really impressive second half of the season. Kid has some serious game.

we find out tomorrow! I'd pass on Na, dont care about his weekend showing.

eiher way this will be a crazy strong USA team. The last team ? they picked an out of form Mickelson, was a ' buddy-pick'. Was a ridiculous pick, he was in awful form. I remember Phil pulling out an iron on a par 5, OFF THE TEE!! Phil? he snap hooked it into the water @). i think the club pro could have beaten him in singles that week. Tiger made it , was exhausted tho, he had won at East Lake prior to and had played quite a bit of golf leading into it. DeChambeau was a rookie didnt handle it very well ....and the course was set up to nullify USA bombers, Watson wasnt a good fit

where's the weakness in USA's team this yr? Assuming Morikawa's back is fine and Brooks is good to go (with the number of injuires Brook's gets ya'd think he plays a contact sport...geez)

Euro captain picks i think Harrington goes safe, all vets. Not in until next week

these r in;

Rahm
Rory
Fleetwood
Casey
Hovland

will be clearer picture after Wentworth this weekend. Hovland is a rookie, but i wouldnt be afraid to play him in all 5 matches . Rahm plays all 5 guaranteed , lol

career practically in shambles , then 2020 came. Swing, mind in a good place. The last 18 mths has been spectacular for English. Culminates with a Ryder Cup selection

(<)<...super super smooth swing.

as for Captain America?

reedpumped-847-getty.jpg

kaput

“That was a very, very difficult call. Kinda lost sleep over that one,” Stricker said of Reed. “He is a tremendous competitor, his record at the Ryder Cup is pretty darn good. But I think it was just the uncertainty of his health and really the lack of play that led to our decision down the stretch.“It was a very hard conversation. He was my first call. I knew it was going to be hard but he took it like a true champion.
