Tapak played great. Walk on scrub, whatever, he was a man out there. 5 rebs, 5 ass. He has great court vision, definately the best on this team, plus he gives 110% 100% of the time. Donald Perry is the scrub, glad he finally sat the whole game. Tapak was option 2 or option 3, not sure, but I know from postgame that he was not option 1. I think Wright drive-then look inside to Leach-then look to tapak on the wing. (my damn tape ran out so I missed the last 43 seconds-I was at the game)
Your definately right about taking it to the whole, the refs called one of the tightest games I have ever seen. 43 fouls! They called fouls on postups the whole game, both ways it was horrid. Amazingly just what we didnt need, and when we did need it (vs Iowa-they call it super loose)
I didnt say the refs lost the game for IU, I just said they should have ate thier whistle at the end.
I am pro Davis because he is such a great recruiter and I expect him to grow as a coach(because he definately isnt there yet), but he has to figure out the last 4 minutes of the game and get it to the players. The team has folded so many times at the end, tonight was a debacle. Your best player dribbles off his foot with 35 seconds left(when Minny was not going to foul and get the ball back with less tahn 8 seconds left and that is if we missed at the end) I don't know what to make of it, Coach Davis has next year or at most 2 more years to right the ship or it will be all over for him. With the talent coming in, he should be able to get it done. The talent will no doubt be there next year. If Smith comes, then it will be bigtime and if Palacios commits even moreso. I am going to Lville tomorrow to watch Josh Smith, hope he comes to IU.
