even with all that said this might be a game to action...

have a small chance of playing like shit and only winning by a few buckets but also have the potential to beat cle st by 30 points

This is a good idea actually. However, I am a little gun shy about it because of how bad I ran Saturday so I am going to hold off. But I never think action points until I read your threads. Action points are very profitable in CBB if you use them right (especially on low totals).

You got me thinking about the action points now...will keep them in mind.

Action game?

Is "action game" the same as playing the ML? Never heard of action except in baseball.

No action points are hard to explain so I will use an example.

Syracuse is -13 as of right now. If you play Syracuse -13 for action points at $50 a point that means you win $50 for every point Syracuse wins by over 13. Howver, you lose $50 for every point under 13.

So if Cuse wins by 14 you win $50, if they win by 20 you win $350, if they win by 40 you win $1,350.

Could be very profitable. However, if Cuse wins by just 2 you lose $550 and if somehow they lost by 15 you lose $1,400.

If you pick your spots you can make money for this. My favorite thing to do is action points on a total around 110 because usually the floor the total will hit is 100 but it can get as high as 140 or maybe even with some OT's 160.

in terms of not covering, in a blowout situation do you expect Jimmy to try to get mookie in and or get him in quicker? In no way is he the 6th man but he is the youngest and most inexperienced bench guy they could be subbing in more. Obviously to prepare him or others for more time depending on Devo's fate, this could also force a cle st cover. IMO, think mookie absolutely stinks, numerous turnovers, airballs and iladvised shots support this, any thoughs?

In cases like this it comes down to this...how did Mookie Jones get into Syracuse? Well clearly thier is talent thier he is just trying to adjust. And while when I have seen him play he wasn't the best player in the floor, he is not nearly as bad as you make him out to be. In 53 minutes he is credited with just 1 turnover while scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and a block. He also has made 1 3 pointer in every game he has appeared in and his hitting 50% of his shots.

I am not sure how this kid is going to cost Syracuse a cover.

Ive watched Syracuse play 9 games and have watched all 365 minutes of every game. Mookie Jones will not blow this game (cover) He is still adjusting, but he is actually one of only a couple guys that doesn't go out there and make mistakes. He never turns the ball over, he rebounds, and he hustles. If anyone is going to cause SU to blow a cover its going to be DEVO taking awful shots and turning the ball over and/or Cocaine Harris doing the same thing. Arinze will get his 15 and 10 or so and Flynn will get his 20 and 7 or so and SU should cover in this game. Only reason I'm not taking it is because SU is over due for a D'OH home game

Adding
Loyola Marymount +5 (2 Units)

Line movement has made this play which I think is what Homedawg said and all day I have been preaching how bad UC Riverside is on the road and for them to lay 5? Something is wrong with this picture.

Syracuse -12.5

I continue to believe that Syracuse is a top ten caliber team and maybe even a National Title contender with or without Eric Devendorf. On Saturday Syracuse came back to the court after finals and showed a bit of rust since not playing since December 3rd. Rather, then taking advantage of a Long Beach State team coming across the country the struggled until finally pulling away in the second half. Cleveland State has been up and down all year and when they are down, it is for the most part due to poor offense. Cleveland St is shooting just 41% forcing thier defense to step it up from whistle to whistle. However, Cleveland St's defense is not capable of keeping up with the athletes on this Syracuse team. The Vikings have no answer for Johnny Flynn, Eric Devendorf, Paul Harris, or Arinze Onuaku.

Cleveland St is a two man show with Norris Cole and J'Nathan Bulluck. Bulluck leads the team in points per game and rebounds per game but may run into some trouble trying to battle for a board down low with the 6'9-275 pound Onuaku. Bulluck is listed at 6'5 and 240 which makes even Harris a tough match up for a rebound.

The Vikings have played some solid teams this year. They lost to Washington by 15 behind a 31% shooting effort, in a 10 point loss to Kansas St they hit just 37.5%, in a 2 point loss to Butler they shot a pathetic 25% and in a 10 point loss to West Virginia they shot just 33%. All the while in those four games the Vikings totaled just 213 points, also known as 53.25 points per game.

Now if Cleveland St is going to struggle to score and are going to struggle to rebound just how are they going to stay with a top ten team that can run the floor and score in bunches. Not to mention Syracuse shoots 50% from the field and has put up big points at home all year long. I think Syracuse rolls in this one.

Syracuse 74, Cleveland St 55

Syracuse is 9-0 straight up this season, but the Orange are only 1-3 ATS as a double-digit favorite this season and they are only 31-63-2 ATS as a home favorite of 6 points or more following consecutive wins – including just 9-36-2 ATS if they’re coming off a win of 15 points or more (which they are). Cleveland State is an experienced team (4 returning starters from last year’s 21 win squad) and the Vikings are very good defensively (37.5% FG allowed).

I don't hold much in trends.

How much are they ATS at home when having top 5 talent in the country?
