What would you guys do with the money?

After taxes, what would you get?

Like $800 Million?

Imaging being able to scatter $100 Million out to friends and family, and STIL have $700 million left!

The billion dollars is over 20 years, so if you want it now it's discounted back to it's present value. Let's say 600 million for the sake of conversation.

You pay taxes on 600 million, approximately 234 million to the federal government. You can reduce this number, but not significantly.

Then you pay state income taxes, unless you live in one of the few no tax states. Believe it or not, CA with a max tax rate of 10%, does not tax lottery winnings. Let's assume state income tax is 5%, or 30 million

That leaves you with 336 million dollars in the lump sum settlement. Still enough to make all your dreams come true :)

Next drawing tonight.
For only the second time in Powerball’s history, the jackpot for the next drawing has reached an estimated $1 billion. The odds of winning the Halloween night fortune are just one in 292 million.

Powerball jackpot climbs to $1.2 billion after Halloween drawing haunts players with no winner yet again.

After no lucky trick-or-treater scored Monday night's billion-dollar Powerball jackpot, players will have to vie for the prize yet again on Wednesday, this time for a whopping estimated $1.2 billion.
The jackpot is the second-largest prize in Powerball's 30-year history, according to the lottery, just behind the record $1.586 billion win in 2016.
The winning numbers in the Halloween drawing were 13, 19, 36, 39, 59 and red Powerball 13.
While nobody snagged the grand prize in Monday's drawing, 10 tickets won $1 million prizes and three tickets rang in a $2 million prize by using the lottery's Power Play feature, Powerball said.
Lottery participants have been haunted for 38 drawings in a row with no jackpot winner, Powerball said. The last grand prize was awarded to a ticket in Pennsylvania on August 3 for a $206.9 million pot.

I bought a powerball ticket last sunday before the fins/steelers SNF game as i saw the jackpot was high. I saw it was for Monday's drawing and then i asked when did powerball start doing Monday drawings.

I havent played the last few drawings but if i'm somewhere today or tomorrow that sells tickets (with short lines), then i'll go

2 Powerball tickets worth $1 million each sold in Ohio.

OHIO, USA — No one took home Halloween's billion-dollar Powerball jackpot Monday, but be sure to check those tickets.
A number of players across the country, including two in Ohio, won at least $1 million in this drawing. Monday's winning numbers were 13-19-36-39-59, Powerball 13 and Powerplay 3.
The two winning tickets in Ohio were sold at a Par-Mar convenience store in Washington County's Newport and a Norwalk Mickey Mart in Huron County's Norwalk. The tickets matched five numbers to win $1 million.
Additionally, players in Florida, New York and Oklahoma matched all five numbers and the Powerplay for a $2 million prize, and players in California, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New York and Texas matched numbers to win $1 million.

It goes against the Bible (maybe?).

I'm pretty sure gambling is looked down upon by the church? It's been a while since I looked at a Bible, but didn't Jesus go into a temple that had been fitted out with a bunch of slot machines? Seems risky to me if you believe in that!

The odds are astronomical, but it's the same if the pot is $1 million or $1 billion. The odds of any numbers picked at random are always the same regardless of how many tickets are bought. The only thing that might increase is the number of people who have the winning numbers. (y)

I'm in... Also in with the Astros :an_burn_m
