That is true, but the difference is in other big talent-rich states like Florida, Texas, and California there are several options of big name schools to play for whereas in Georgia it is one really big school...Most don't grow up wanting to play for Georgia Tech and may not have the academics anyway.........So then you get all these players from Georgia showing up on teams like Auburn (a reason why some call them West Georgia) and several other schools looking to play the game of their life against the Georgia Bulldogs since they grew up here in Georgia, but there wasn't enough scholarships to go around.........This doesn't even include the major rivalry game against Florida that Georgia plays each year.
Yes, Tennessee has made a living with good players from Georgia. Jamal Lewis, Cosey Coleman, Deon Grant led the national champ in 1998...all from Georgia.
I'm not even sure who UGA's main rival is. I guess Auburn? Ga Tech isn't a rivalry. If the other team wins every game, it's not a rivalry. Like Florida for so many years.....UGA thought it was a rivalry, but Florida saw FSU and Tenn as their big rivals.
