I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars.

If you think that phrase is intelligent or has value, you're an absolute imbecile.

However, I do rather enjoy the fact that the Obama Administration said Iraq was one of their biggest foreign policy successes.

Very powerful speech. Obama should have been President 75-100 years from now. Too many primitive people like yourself for his ideas and understanding to actually be accepted. You guys are a dying breed though so I have hope for the future. The more education and information our youth get the dumber you conservatives look. Love it!

That "response" was the intellectual equivalent of what fills a baby's diaper.

You have nothing informed or intelligent to say on this topic.

As opposed to "Except you are too ignorant, uninformed, and frankly dumb to understand how silly and meaningless that stupid speech was."

You sound like a real life genius. Lol.

It sure was. More than any single thing Obama said or did, that speech was what made him the Dem Candidate and ultimately the President. Of course, he couldn't have done it without McCain's and Hillary's stupidity on Iraq.

Much like Wrong Way, although not quite the proven, long term Commodity Willie is, when Ace says something, you can be pretty sure the opposite is true. To quote the late, great Billy Martin, one's a born liar, the other's convicted. With Willie, it's in the genes, he was born that way. Ace is working hard to catch him, but lacks Wrong Way's natural gifts. But he's making it interesting.

He did. Just not quickly enough for my tastes. If McCain had been elected, we'd still be fighting there. Who we'd be fighting is anyone's guess, but we'd still be there fighting, in spite of any signed agreements.

How exactly did Obama bring the troops home?? You know the Iraq Status Forces Agreement was signed way before Obama took office right?

The U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement (official name: "Agreement Between the United States of America and the Republic of Iraq On the Withdrawal of United States Forces from Iraq and the Organization of Their Activities during Their Temporary Presence in Iraq") was a status of forces agreement (SOFA) between Iraq and the United States, signed by President George W. Bush in 2008. It established that U.S. combat forces would withdraw from Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009, and all U.S. forces will be completely out of Iraq by December 31, 2011

So Obama gets credit for doing nothing??? Just letting an agreement that was in place stand.....

Wow... So do I get credit for saving the lives of millions of people, since I didn't kill them, I just sat here at home today and did nothing? Can I get a Nobel Peace Prize? Maybe a shot on a late night talk show? Do I get to write a book? Maybe star in my own Hollywood movie?

We are talking millions of lives I saved by doing nothing..... That's worth csomething

President Obama's speech on 27 February 2009
On 27 February 2009, at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, President Barack Obama announced a deadline for the withdrawal of combat troops from Iraq. According to the president, by 31 August 2010, after nearly seven and a half years of United States military engagement in Iraq, all but a "transitional force" of 35,000 to 50,000 troops would be withdrawn from the Middle Eastern nation. President Obama defined the task of the transitional force as "training, equipping, and advising Iraqi Security Forces as long as they remain non-sectarian; conducting targeted counter-terrorism missions; and protecting our ongoing civilian and military efforts within Iraq".[23]

THANKS!!! So Bush put in a timeline to have the combat troops out by the end of June 2009.. BUT, Obama extended it to over a year, keeping them there LONGER.

So you are giving him credit for keeping combat troops there for 14 months longer then the original agreement. AND The Guesser stated "He did. Just not quickly enough for my tastes. If McCain had been elected, we'd still be fighting there. Who we'd be fighting is anyone's guess, but we'd still be there fighting, in spite of any signed agreements."

So its ok for Obama to keep our troops there longer then the agreement said, but if someone else did it... its not ok. And Obama gets credit for bringing them home, 14 months later then the agreement stated, and gets credit and praise for it?

I am so confused by this logic....

He gets credit for actually bringing our troops home. That's hardly "nothing". Signed agreements are fine, and are often ignored. McCain would have ignored it, and we'd still be fighting there.

It's NOT OK, which is why I criticized Obama for not getting us out of there quickly enough. We should have been completely out of there 10 days after he took office. We should have been out of Afghanastan 10 days after we got Bin Laden. I will not give Credit to Bush for signing an agreement to get us out of a War he never should have been in to begin with. Like everything he did in regards to Iraq, his words and statements were not to be trusted.

But to give Obama credit for something that was already in place is kind of stupid. Not trying to argue, just trying to see the logic in it.

In all, Like AK posted, he should get "Discredited" for keeping them there 14 months longer then the agreement stated they should.
