Same language. Totally different culture.

We would never ever even consider a military dude as a Prime Minister.

Not even slightly, as a maybe....

And BTW, more US citizens get killed by cars than terrorists, about 50,000 more, per annum.
So is there any automobile panic in progress?
Is there any automobileterrorist legislation in progress?
I just thought I would put your overhyped crusade in context.

I am not saying you don't have a right to an opinion, you most certainly do. I assume you are British. So perhaps this is a cultural difference between us. My sole point is Wesley Clark deserves to be judged on his personal merits and not summarily dismissed because he was a 4 star general. Have a nice evening or day depending on where you are on this planet.

wil.

BTW. I am not defending the US policy in the middle east one iota.

First you invade a country that the entire world doesn't want you to.

Then you want to elect a squarehead to sort things out...

You really need someone with a brain, and common sense, like Bill Clinton, to appear, and soon.
What about Powell?
He seems to have a brain that functions.

...

OU DO NOT LET THE MILITARY RUN A DEMOCRACY.

THEY ARE NOT UP TO THE JOB.

...

PRO-DEMOCRACY!!

KEEP THE MILITARY AWAY!!

WELL AWAY!!

Only the crap third world dungholes employ the military in domestic high office.

...was my point.

...

You should not even CONSIDER the military as civilian leaders.

And the military, if they respect their country, should not ever consider themselves as potential candidates for civilian high office.

Just for the record, I agree that Secretary Powell would probably make a good leader, his views on gun control notwithstanding. But I think that you should know that prior to becoming U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Powell spent 35 years in the military, rising to the rank of general, and served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Bush Sr. You don't get too much more military-statesman than Powell.

Also -- people with long and decorated military records often make far better leaders than drug-addicted draft-dodging frat boy womanisers. Generally speaking.

Bump.
This is going to be the crystal ball post of the year. Heck, I said he'd by in the top by Nov. 1. What was I thinking? He's #1 within a week of announcing.
GO WES GO!
