From the offices of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe
Our client wishes the following statement to be read:
To my loyal supporters and brothers of PABST, I thank you for fighting the good fight. We may have lost the battle, but we will win the war. Despite the majority of posters disagreeing with our position, we can still hold our heads up high knowing we have our priorities aligned in the right direction. Groucho Marx once said, "any club that would have me is a member is one I wouldn't want to be in". I think that we can agree that being in the minority is where we all want to be.
To the victors who voted yes on prop balloon. It speaks volumes when an overwhelming majority can be on one side, and speaks to the irony that an overwhelming majority of gamblers are losers. This is certainly one correlated parlay that can be played with an overwhelming positive expectation. Another quote by philosopher and musician Perry Farrell fits the equation, "the gang and the government no different, that makes me 1%".
For those that thought this was about balloons, a little introspection may reveal otherwise. This was far from the focus of the battle. A subtle game of bluff will show that the shift in paradigms and focus in business plans was the real source of discontent. We are a community of individuals with similar likes. When you take away the focus from a community and focus instead on business interests ahead of customers, then the inevitable occurs. In other words, cutting off your nose to spite your face is not what should be happening here.
As to the sanctions imposed by Green Doberman Enterprises, let's revisit:
1) The vast majority of posters and moderators will continue to be inaccessible. There are a number of quality individuals whose voices should be heard. Unfortunately that number decreases by the month and year as the transition from think tank to cesspool rapidly occurs. A study into the viability of these posters as an ongoing concern is recommended.
2) Outside of the PABST circle, I will confine most of my posts to one thread in the rubber room. Think of it as a stream of consciousness, multimedia running diary of a drunken man in a prohibitionist society. It will be accessible to be read by all, despite its solipcistic nature.
3) The BCS thread will continue as I see fit.
4) GDE is currently in negotiations with two nationally syndicated columns, a rogue website, a niche cable channel, and a homeless guy who plays guitar on a street corner for the American Idol analysis. The Rx is welcome to throw their hat into the ring. This has been tabled by corporate management for the time being.
5) Continued dialogue with veteran posters and the website is suggested to aid in the osmosis of the old school and new.
I realize most of you do not have the reading comprehension nor the attention span to get through this post. This is not an attempt to sublimate your place here, but rather a targeted response to those who understand its ramifications.
Godspeed,
Green Doberman
