Matt Patchan, one of their top recruits...OUT FOR THE SEASON!
Torn pectoral.
The hits just keep coming.
See the article below. Please don't EVER listen to ANYTHING this guy EVER says AGAIN! What very small ounce of credibility this loser once had is completely gone. Take your thumb out of Mr Smith's Ass, it's about to be 5 straight!(Really 6, but who's counting.)

Matt Patchan was so explosive in spring practice that position coach
Dan McCarney said at the time the former five-star recruit from Seffner Armwood would definitely play this season.

Patchan impressed McCarney with his play in Monday's practice.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><!-- End MPatchan200_0324_KK Image-->Patchan, a 6-foot-6, 270-pound freshman, has been dealing with a pectoral muscle injury that limited him to individual drills almost all of preseason camp. Monday was his first day back doing team work and McCarney said Patchan's game has not changed at all.
"Patchan practiced (Monday) for the first time and it looks like he hasn't missed a beat since spring ball," McCarney said. "He looked fast and he looked physical. I got him in a little bit of everything. I'll get him some more (Tuesday). If he stays healthy this week and continues to improve he'll definitely play out here Saturday. He won't start but he'll definitely play… He brings another speed to that defensive line."
Patchan will be a welcome addition to a defensive front that is still trying to figure out who will perform on game days. McCarney said moving players in and out will be the norm and that nine or 10 players across the line could see action. If Patchan stays healthy this week, he could be an important piece at defensive tackle.
Fellow freshman defensive tackle
Omar Hunter, also a five-star recruit, has practiced five straight times after being limited with a sore back early in camp. Hunter, probably the most-hyped recruit in the 2008 class, will rotate with junior college transfer
Troy Epps in the season opener against Hawaii.
Redshirt sophomore
Lawrence Marsh has earned the starting spot at defensive tackle and if the Gators employ the 3-3-5 defense that McCarney and coach
Urban Meyer have detailed, Marsh would be the starter on the line with defensive ends
Carlos Dunlap and
Jermaine Cunningham. Redshirt sophomore defensive tackle
Terron Sanders is also expected to see action Saturday.
One player who has not yet earned a spot in the two-deep is redshirt freshman
John Brown, a former four-star recruit from Lakeland.
"He's been practicing," McCarney said. "He cracked a bone in his hand a couple weeks ago but he's been practicing. He's not in the two-deep right now. He's been available all camp but he hasn't earned a spot in the two-deep. He's got a cast on and that obviously limits you when you can't use that hand but he's not in the two-deep right now. He wasn't in the spring and he's not now so he has some work to do to get in a situation where he's playing.
"I'm going to keep coaching the heck out of him and bringing him along but he's not in the two-deep and that tells you where he's at. He's not in a position to help us on game day yet. I'm not giving up, I'm not going to kill his spirit but I'm not going to put him on the field unless he can show me he can be productive and consistent and he hasn't done that yet."
Redshirt freshman
Jaye Howard was moved to defensive tackle this off-season and he's trying to move into the two-deep. He's not there yet. Sophomore defensive ends
Justin Trattou and
Duke Lemmens are expected to see action against Hawaii. Trattou missed three days with a slight concussion and Lemmens has a sore groin but both will play.
"They're a joy to coach," McCarney said.
Meyer said at his Monday news conference that freshman defensive end
William Green will play a lot. Green, listed at 6 feet 4 and 215 pounds, is a former four-star recruit from Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park. He's been one of the pleasant surprises in camp.
Sophomore defensive tackle
Torrey Davis, a former five-star prospect from Seffner Armwood, was held out of preseason camp mainly because of academic issues but he rejoined the team Monday. McCarney said Davis conditioned in shorts and no pads. He won't be available this week.
"He's still on scholarship and we're going to try to work him back into the program here and back on the team," McCarney said. "He definitely won't be available this week."
