Just received an e-mail today from Gamebookers that said my bet on Dana Quigley to beat Fuzzy Zoeller in the Bruno's Memorial Classic was canceled. Here are the reasons they gave

1. Wrong team/player included into the line.
2. Wrong Venue
3. Abandoned game
4. Under article 11.4 from Gamebooker's betting Terms and Conditions.

I am out $750 on this bet. Why was it canceled after the event was decided. Do I have any recourse? Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you asked the infamous "Gouverneur" on their interactive Q & A forum (he is the customer service rep).

If not, when you are on their home page:

1. Click the round "Contact" button at the top-centre of the screen.

2. Then click on "gamebookers Q & A discussion forum" in the centre of the screen.

3. You will have to register and get a username. After that, post your question/problem, and you should get a response within a couple of hours.

This is not that unusual with Gamebookers although it's never happened to me and I bet there a lot.

Any cancelling of bets once an event has started is just plain theft in my book. Complain to them. If that doesn't work, try their regulator and guys like The Shrink on here.

Post like hell on all the posting sites until you get your money.

Call 800 886 1197 and ask for Vasil. Gamebookers is a greatbook, I've never had any trouble there. I like there lines, CS and Moneybookers, I wish more books took Moneybookers.

Gamebookers definately falls into the category underrated and has one of the most advanced betting platforms on the planet and I am surprised on decent limits in soccer

i ve gotten the same set email a few times, with my bet correctly cancelled either in my favour or to my detriment, all 4 reasons need not apply at the same time, it's an either one formulation, gamebookers might have some killer juice in their lines, most of them at least, but are a must out, probably with the largest variety of bets being offered, and as jj said probably the best and most intuitive betting platforms, great customer service, also, probably one of the best around, and a decent loaylty program

What i would like that they dont have is:
a. neteller withdrawals, only deposits allowed.
b. i dont like moneybookers, they make large claims on their site that are not true and do not deliver. They claim they charge 3 $ or something for bank transfers, while in reality they charge 3$ and the bank they choose to use to actually make the transfer charges the usual bank transfer fees.
c. i also appreciate a free withdrawal per month, although admittedly i like their free deposit and free withdrawal (up to the amount deposited) with a credit card, but for the serious bettor withdrawing whatever he deposited at no charge is not of much importance, withdrawing the winnings is the thing.

I use gb very often,as most european punters do,but I m totally unpleased with their payout service, moneybookers, which suppose to be a bank, regulated etc. They pay,but 50% of the times they slow pay, thats my experiences with them since a long time .I m still waiting for a withdrawl which I had request 14/4/03.
gb unfortunatelly is a must for a european punter,so I deal with this situation.

the tour-tips website is rightly incensed about this bet being voided.

Gamebookers are known for playing this game, waiting for bets to run before deciding to cancel or not.

Their favourite sport for taking a shot used to be Formula 1. Drivers can be classified without finishing the race, and occasionally vice versa. Gamebookers were notorious last season for bending the rules on this type of bet to suit their book, but seem to have stopped doing it for 2003.

The golf head-to-head void should not impress IBAS, who regulate Gbookers UK activites. That is in the event that the book itself stubbornly keeps trying to defend what can only be described as one of 2 things:

1. THEFT
2. FRAUD

Note that I myself have been regularly betting with Gamebookers for over a year and never had a bet voided. But, given their "take a shot" policy, that's probably just good luck on my part.

Good Books don't cancel bets AFTER final outcomes. They EAT their mistakes! Once hit
5000$ on a total that a book gave a wrong line on and got paid, god rest his soul,he was in business for 40 years and always told me if a book makes a mistake he eats it! Are you a steay player with them, if not maybe they don't want your action!

gb are not a place for serious betting.
I made some of my smallest stakes there, and only if have no other option(other bookie for this event etc).
IMO is an overrated book(in europe),and moneybookers are a bad joke.

I have been playing there quite awhile and have never had a bet cancelled.
I give them quite a bit of action.

I can't believe anybody would think this is open and shut, I have yet to see the player make any type of a case for himself. I would think if any of these things happened it would be a bad line, if it is all 4 that is a real mix up.

1. Wrong team/player included into the line.
2. Wrong Venue
3. Abandoned game
4. Under article 11.4 from Gamebooker's betting Terms and Conditions.

Once again:"Wianese, are those 4 reasons listed all correct??"

btw Shrink check your mail!
thanks

Bulldog are you the shill for Gamebookers?

Ahhhh just the book I was looking to slap around a bit!!!

What customer service does Gamebookers offer?
Each reply is a form letter that says something like, our bookmakers will look into whatever you're writing to them about!!! Plus NOBODY ever signs their email. It comes from some $8.00 an hour clerk by the name of the customer service staff!!! Hell how do we know if he/she ever passes it on to manangement!!

I've asked them to re-arrange their baseball layout to be like the rest of the world but nope!!! I suggested to them to just take a look at WSEX, The Olympic and Bowmans to see how they do it!!

Did you notice that some college hoops game were never on their board? The games that were pick'em they just didn't book. Since there was no "handicapp" (as the British say) they didn't book the games.
I think this is one area where they did listen to my suggestion as during the NCAA tourny they figured out to at least put those games into their money line option.

Personally, I don't care how any bookie "books" a game. There are plenty of "outs." But did you guys notice the one bet and done theory they seem to utilize?
When a "hot move" showed and they got hit, most of the time that game would come off their board to never be seen again!!!
There was one day where there were seven college hoops game on the board around the world and Gamebookers only had ONE game up!!!
Why? Because after one or two bets on a steam game they took the games down!!!
Gesssshhhh!!!

Payouts, yikes!!
The Gamebookers site says 'free' payouts!!
So they direct you to Moneybookers where they will send you a bank wire. Here is what a FREE payout costs!!!
First, there is a couple of dollar charge for something I couldn't figure out.
Then when the bank wire arrives it was $25 short of what I was expecting.
I was told that "some" bank along the way probably took out the money as a fee????
Then of course there was the incoming wire fee that my bank charged.
So if you put in for a withdrawal of (say) $400 it is gonna cost you around $42 bucks!!!
Free my ass!!!

On top of that, the customer service director (Neven) had the balls to tell me that Gamebookers and Moneybookers were NOT related!!! (and I have his email to prove it)
Hahahahah but if you go to the website of the parent company you find a link to both sites!!

As to Neteller...
Isn't that a laugh.
You can send via Neteller but couldn't make a withdrawal.
I don't know if it is mentioned any place on the Gamebookers site yet.
But I contacted Neteller and told them about being able to send but not receive via Neteller.
The Neteller rep told me that he contacted Gamebookers and then informed me that they should be allowing withdrawals now.
You're on your own to see if they do!!!

Hahaha JJ called this outfit "underrated."
"Under a rock" would be more accurate!!!

Sorry Guys, I know I started this thread, but I haven't been around much this week. Thanks for all of your input. The email I received said the reason was 1 of the four. When I e-mailed them back they said that the bet was listed as B. Quigley instead of D. Quigley. Kind of crappy considering that Brett Quigley plays on the PGA Tour not the Senior Tour. Everyone I would assume would know that the bet was on Dana Quigley.

Thanks Shrink for offering to call gamebookers. My username with them is riverbend. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wonder if they would have "noticed" the "B" instead of the "D" had you lost?

... me thinks not.

Lander - I agree and mentioned the same thing when I e-mailed them and they said they would have refunded it either way. Uh yeah right.

I have gotten payouts from this book in the past and rather than go through the fees for bank to bank transfers; I requested the payouts by check. I did receive them, but only after waiting about a month. Kinda hard when you need that money to move to other books where balances are low. The only reason I use them is because they seem to be very slow in moving their lines, particulary on American events.
