Really? I thought season 1 was a lot better but maybe because I watched season 1 in 2 days and had to wait each week during season 2. Im reading the books but its been a slow process for me. I should get the audio tapes and listen when I am in traffic

I believe there are 5 that he has completed. He is still writing the last 2 i believe but he is pretty old I believe and not in that great of shape. Season 1 mirrors the book very accurately and i heard season 2 is similar, but not as close.

They are super long and small text though so its not that easy of a read. I just sit in traffic for an hour coming home everyday from work and am running out of podcasts to listen to. But if you enjoy reading, everyone that i know who has read the books recommends them
