No, it didn't as you know, but I made up some of the loss in casino and Pacers over 5.5 3's (With 8 secs to go).

I will try and get some back tonight as I should have an NBA play or 2.

Good luck

I probably would watch less Sports and be less of a fan without Gamblng. Without this Income I wouldn't watch most Sports,I could do without alot of it ,especially the NBA

I've noticed this as well. What started as a hobby soon turned to more like a part-time job. Easily put in 20+hours per week handicapping. During football, I watch a few good college games. During NFL I usually don't watch any games until the fourth quarter. I have them on the TV, but find I am doing 100 different other things.

The only sport I can watch start to finish is college hoops, whether I have money on it or not. NBA, I can't watch at all until the playoffs.

I don't even get excited when I win. I rarely get upset when I lose one or two games. It's only the losing streaks that really affect my mood. This is something that has occurred over the last 6-8 months.

Outside of the NFL, most pro sports are terrible products anyhow, so I guess it doesn't matter much. College b-ball, and f-ball to some extent, are still fun.

Agree with Pancho Free Agency has ruined it for me anyway...

I lost all fan allegiance years ago...And I am thankful to have seen how sports was back in the 70's...

I knew I crossed over completely when I bet against the Orioles back in the mid 90's in a PLAYOFF GAME vs Cleveland...now that was very difficult..I won the bet but I did not feel good about it...

its kinda sad really. i used to watch baseball games, rooting for my team and following the players i liked. same with football and basketball too. now, if i don't have action, i don't even care who wins...let alone watch anything.

don't get me wrong, gambling has been pretty good to the wallet the last three years. but, it feels...i don't know...impure or something. i don't feel like a fan anymore.

can anyone else relate?

Thats exactly how I feel, I dont even watch sports if I have a wager on the game. I bought the NBA season pass but havent watched any of the games.

NBA players are LAZY!

Gambling does have its devil horns. First, you need to throw all 32+ baseball, NFL, NBA teams under the bus, then 118 Div-1 ncaa football (with the Ivy League and few selected 1-aa programs), and 300+ college hoop teams under the same bus, THEN you can open up your donbest.com screen and go to work.

...i personally havent rooted for a team in 15 years. I sometimes do LIKE to see certain teams get to another level/playoff victory/upset/get over the hump, etc.

And so it goes......

See, fantasy is one thing I cannot do. I tried baseball, football and basketball (all pros) a few times, but it just doesn't interest me at all. Someone once wrote a column (Nover?) that said being in a fantasy league makes you more knowledgable and a better gambler, but I don't see how that happens. I get too bored over the course of a season.

College Football is the only one I can watch with pure glee without an angle involved, as it is mostly from being semi burnt out, as even though under 40, I have been exposed to the lifestyle since childhood, and active since early teens.

It took until about age 20, for my father to finally convince me that I was always pulling for the "green team", no matter which school or team I was a fan of.

But pro ball on all levels, has had a huge interest drop in the last decade, as even my non-gambling friends rarely watch any pro ball except NFL now.

The NBA died when Jordan, Magic, Bird,etc..retired to most folks I know, as today's product is pure garbage to all that witnessed it's glory era.

With MLB's band boxes, juiced balls, and roidsters, killing the game to most of my non-avid baseball friends that watch just the playoffs now.

Modern amenities now available to those that grew up in past eras, plus their X-Generation kids of the PS2/X-Games age, make for extremely tough sells for pro leagues with many guaranteed contract thugs and their $100-plus tickets.

After you start betting on sports, you can still be a fan of a team, but not a fan of the game.

There is one game that I could have absolutely ZERO money on and I will live and die with every play...every run...every pass...every step of the way.

It is next Sunday. We have been waiting a long time for this day. Years and years of suffering can end in a few hours on Sunday.

korn good luck with the Illini. I have been saying it for awhile now but they are the best team in college basketball bar none. There is no reason why they can't get run the table in the tourney. :103631605

My interest in sports has increased 10 fold with gambling. I have more favorite teams and am still a fan of the game (especially NFL football) as well as my teams.

I'm with you Buffalo66. I started losing interest in sports except for my favorite teams. Gambling makes the games much more interesting. I'm rooting for teams I had no interest in before.

Can relate to this...main reason for lest interest is players moving from team to team... not like the old days when same MLB players stayed with their team...think Brooklyn Dodgers.

Gambling on NFL still very exiting to me as I enjoy the game so much..get in Hilton's Superbook contest every year and it has really helped my personal gambling..you really focus looking for your top 5 plays each week...look forward to this contest every year.

Can not gamble on baskets as 1 night eveything goes in..the next night same team..nothing but bricks..do not watch it anymore.

Also enjoy the horses..go for exotic bets and love watching these beautiful animals run.

Someone once said that "life is a series of losses"..very true. Once you accept this outlook about life you find there are still a lot of things out there to enjoy..you have to work on it a little.

Very sorry you feel this way. I see life as the exact opposite. Enjoy the little things. Life is a series of moments. Negative moments are to be forgotten, and the good ones are yours to remember and cherish.
