I really thought there were 32 teams, guess i was thinking football, anyways you are right, there are only (29) teams, so the field will be full once we get 29 players.....We have 28 now, and i think Fred said that Scoob is getting in, if he sends his funds, he is the last one.......The prizes wont change, I spoke to Fred, and we both just missed that.....But everything will remain the same...

Gentlemen: I don't see a problem having 32 in the first round. It really doesn't matter if more than one contestant has the same team.

If we are going with 29, I assume we'll still use the top 16 to make the playoffs.

Thought it was a good time to bump this thread, being that the playoffs are just around the corner. I think the contest has worked out great so far and I really appreciate how you've kept up the standings on a daily basis, but I have one suggestion for an improvement for the playoffs. How about making the tiebreaker be the total points for your OWN team in the 10th game, instead of the total of a common game. The advantage here is that there won't be the inevitable game of chicken at the end just before game time of this common game to post a score that is just one above (or below) your opponent. Using my suggestion, your opponents tiebreaker has no bearing on your tiebreaker and thus true handicapping becomes more important than who posts last. The winner of the round (if a tiebreaker is needed) would be the player whose posted tiebreaker is closest to his own team's actual score. Isn't this better?

On a side note - it was kinda funny reading all these old posts praising Mike and Freddy. Wonder how many people would like to take some of those comments back?

Time for another bump here, now that round 2 is beginning. Have to admit, BTJ has a point - why can't this contest be put in the contest section? Sure would be a lot easier than searching for the picks and standings threads everyday.
