If there was an IQ test or you had to own property the polls would look like this:

97% MCCAIN
3% Obama

If People had half a Brain and looked at the last 8 years under Bush and understood the reality that Mccain will be more of the same, the polls would look like this:

100% Obama
0% Mccain

That's just flat out false. Polls show Obama does better among those with college degrees and advanced degrees. Similar results by state. Obama does better as the populace is more educated and younger.

Ok brainy one what does the POTUS have to do with property tax?

I live in the reddest of red states and the presidents home. We have one of the highest property tax rates in the country.

So before you start throwing out IQ statements you might want to know what the fuck you are talking about.

Sweetlou - since you are so confident that Obama will win then lets put a little wager on this here election. The whole forum will know the bet. So how much are you willing to put on Mr. Obama - lets see how confident you are.

Teacher's unions and school vouchers play a very big roll in that, with teachers being by far the single largest profession with advanced degrees.

We've had this discussion before. Republicans control the top 50% income bracket and dominate the top 25% income bracket. The Democrats dominate the lower 25% bracket. I tend to believe that taken as a whole, the higher income demographics will tend to be smarter than the lower.

If you were here more often you would know that I already have a non-money wager with Tocco.. I am not betting any money on it, until maybe the election nears... I am 100% confident that Obama wins, and wins handily..

The high point for McCain was referred to was taken Sept 5-7, right after the Repub convention! I think a more pertinent tracking of things can be found at the site www.fivethirtyeight.com, not only the charts and analysis but also the comments from readers, some of whom are very knowledgeable. Here's what has happened to McCain's overall lead in that Gallup Poll since Sept 5-7, while Fall-in's approval rating has gone straight downhill:

Sept 5-7 M 49, O 44
Sept 6-8 M 49, O 44
Sept 7-9 M 48, O 43
Sept 8-10 M 48, O 44
Sept 9-11 M 48, O 45
Sept 10-12 M 47, O 45
Sept 11-13 M 47, O 45
Sept 12-14 M 47, O 45
Sept 13-15 M 47, O 46

I haven't seen a breakdown of independents or conservative dems lately, but it doesn't really matter, most likely those Sept 5-7 McCain gains with these groups are fading fast, and if not, he must be losing ground with some other voters, which would be just as significant.
