Harry Carray - plenty of dumb Cubs fans aside from 5star, not necessarily posting all over the place though. So that should explain the comment about people not acknowledging how bad Fukodome has been on the road.

As far as my own personal hatred, it's pretty easy to explain. Lived in the Midwest about 90 miles outside of Chicago for roughly 5 years, first year was when they were starting to emerge as NL contenders, the spring/summer of '03, believe it was the Bartman season, unbelievable how many fairweather fans cropped up in Chicago and Indiana. Unbelievable. People that didn't own Cubs hats or shirts all of the sudden were the biggest (and most ignorant) Cubs fans. Like dropping the names Kerry Wood and Mark Prior meant you knew shit about the team or baseball in general. One of the most ridiculous displays of fairweather I've ever seen. I became a Fish fan that year b/c of Juan Pierre (got his jersey, love the guy), was loving it when they took out the Cubs. And then guess what happened 50% of the Cubs' fan population disappears in Indiana and parts of Chicago only to resurface when they are near the playoffs again.

Pretty self-explanatory. I hate fairweather fans. Yes I know every fan base has plenty of them. I just happen to hate the Cubs ones more than any other and hope they never win a championship. Having 5starbomb on your side doesn't help your cause either, unfortunately.

Understood, I hate FW fans more than anything. I lived in SW Ohio (Cincy area) for 5 years, and Cincinnati fans are the most fair weather fans I have ever seen.

I too hated the FW fans in 2003, and I hate them now too. We are not all FW though...

This guy doesn't deserve 48 million a year and why in the hell did fans vote him to start in the all-star game. I couldn't believe that when I saw it

I'm not sure why he is in the same category as those other two. They got Murton from the Red Sox and he is a slap hitter. Fuld is just a little utility guy. Hoffpauir was drafted by the Cubs in '02 so it's more like 5 years which isn't that unusual and he didn't really have a breakout year until last season. Not saying he's going to be a great player necessarily, but Lou does like him. I understand on the Pie doing a lot of things but I'm not sure Lou trusts him at this point to all of a sudden play a role after being down for so long. I tend to agree though with having some speed and defense on the bench. IN reality, Hoffpauir is a younger and now better version of Daryl Ward.

I'm all for Hoffpauir replacing Ward. Pie can't hit a lick, but his defense and pinch-running ability can win a playoff game.

Don't underestimate the Japanese vote. It was huge I'm sure.
