Listen, you bet a two game parlay for $500 and win both ends, you win big.
You lose one, you're out $500; you lose both, you're still out $500.
You bet the same two games SU for $500 apiece, you win both you win a dime or more, depending on the odds---but you certainly won't win as much as the $500 parlay winner would have netted.
You lose one of the games, you split your wagers, though losing the juice.
You lose both of the games at $500 a shot, and you're out a dime or more pending the odds and that's a hell of a lot more than losing $500 had you played the same two games in a parlay.
So in conclusion, the only good thing about splitting the two games into a pair of SU wagers is to hope for a split and that gives you nothing, though it at least prevents you from losing $500 had you bet the parlay.
If you think winning both games in the two SU wagers was a good thing, think again because had you placed them in the $500 parlay instead, you would have netted a lot more.
You're forgetting a very likely option though. He has three plays tomorrow; LA Dodgers, Chi Sox and Cincy. I actually really like the Sox and Cincy picks (would lean SF), but he has to go AT LEAST 2-1 to have any chance of a profit with those 3 picks, and even then he could lose both if that one loss is by the Dodgers. You might have a chance of winning big by playing the parlay, but it is much smarter to play those three separately and just try to hit 2-1 or 3-0 to profit. Parlays are not smart no matter how you spin it, but if you hit them it makes the gamble worth it.

I play parlays every now and again too, for fun....but they're still not a good idea, lol. You don't want to go backing up that thought process.

u might not agree with it, that is ur choice. but is risk and reward that is part of gambling.. and the potential win is 2200 instead of 1100-1300 from me playing all three alone.
i agree it is very risky, but so speeding in ur car when the potential risk is a $170+ fine and potential gain is getting somewhere 3-4 mins faster. do u not speed?
