Indague, luego reflexione.

Thx Bdane....now my 2 colones:

The difference lies in the importance given to the educational system within the societies of both countries.

In Tiquicia, though very much underpaid, teachers are still pretty much respected at all levels and the educational system works, even in the most remote areas of our country.

In Guatemala there are very few schools away from the cities, leaving so the absolute majority of the population of that country (the natives - indigenas) illiterate (analfabeta).

Democracy only prevails where the people understand and questions what goes on around them.

Cheers,
Chico.

Ever since the beginning of Spanish colonization Guatemala and CR have tried to be the center of things, a long time ago I was involved with an organization that was creating the "Central American Federation of xyz"..........the Guatemalan Chapter immediately tried to seize control and put the headquarters in Guatemala and of course that didn't go well in CR

The historical roots of rivalry between CR and Guatemala go all the way back to 1800's and before, Guatemala was the "center" of Spanish Operations here ..........and CR was the "province far far awayyyyyyyyy"

You got your facts right and probably better than me, wolfie. I'm I right or wrong in saying that it was an alliance between Nicaragua and Guatemala that tried to invade Costa Rica during the times of Pepe Figueres (in which our former presiden Abel Pacheco took part of as a soldier against us being nicaraguan)?

How Ironic these disputes are. I relate them to hotrosexual relationships. When and guy and girl are dating and the girl cheats on the guy or maybe leaves the guy for another guy, the boyfriend or ex-boyfriend wants to beat the new guys ass... when all along it was the girl who was the "tracionera".

Same goes with countries. England invades what is now the US and Middle East and colonizes them. Then we (The US) have wars with the Middle East when we should really beat the fuck out of England.

Another example of my theory is Latin America. Rather than Costa Rica fighting Nicaragua or Guatemala fighting Costa Rica we should go kick Spain's ass. Afterall they colonized us.

Sometimes we lose sight of who the "real" enemy is je je je

You got me kind of confused here Bdizz....dunno if to agree or disagree but we can't go and blame Spain for anything really as much as u can't be blaming England....That's independence, overcoming past ills and creating and constucting a new future...i don't know man...

ja ja ja ja ja!

You can ask at TT's Party. Just lemme take off my make-up and my stilletto high heels. LOL!

I said, "Hetrosexual" becasuse I can only speak for what I know. I do have gay friends but I never talk about relationships when around them... usually it is about Star Wars or something stupid and totally irrelavent.
