Friends was absolute shit - hence the reason so many people liked it.

My all time favorite comedy series is The Andy Griffith Show that originally aired
back in the 60's. I still watch it today and still laugh at Andy, Barney, Opie, Otis,
Floyd, Goober, Earnest T, Aunt Bee and the other characters on the show. Every
show had a positive message that families could relate too. The best in my opinion!!

I think the majority of people under the age of 50 on this site would go with Seinfeld over MASH (and most would say that they enjoyed friends for a few seasons)

Funny you say that. In the first year Cheers came out, it was the lowest rated show of the season.

Seinfeld had to call in the Howard Stern show of its season 1 finale to have viewers watch b/c of their low ratings.

NO WAY either show gets a season 2 if it came out today

Comedy is one of the hardest shows to write for. The first year is like trying to find your way in the dark while searching for chemistry.

Every generation has had successful shows that would not of made the cut in the next generation.

hawkeye pierce (alan alda) wouldn't shut up on that show. it turned into a monologue for him. he got 40% of the lines and air time. it got tiring listening to his one liners and being the centerpiece.

Have heard of Cheers but havent seen that either.

Surprised so many on here liked Friends. If it were re-made in 2019, its a lock one of the guys would be black, one of the girls would be Asian, and someone else would be Hispanic. As in..... an absolute LOCK.

Friends ended up being like a Beverly Hills 90210. Basically becomes a who is dating who.

I don't care the show, no show should last past 8 seasons. Just drags down as the cast ages.

Worst aging of a show was Dallas. Lasted 14 seasons and should have been cut at about season 9.

Its funny b/c i will try out MOST new comedies every season when they come out. On every commercial break, i will ask my wife what she thinks and determine if we keep going or "just dump it"

I think cheers is on the roku channel or 1 of those prime channels. I am going to have to watch this.

If it ot sucks I will have to tell everyone after I fine the producers
