In the programmeElusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs, which starts on Monday, the former Palestinian foreign minister Nabil Shaath says Mr Bush told him and Mahmoud Abbas, former prime minister and now Palestinian President: "I'm driven with a mission from God. Palin: Iraq is a task ‘from God"

Huffington Post reports that on June 8, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) addressed the graduating class of commission students at the Wasilla Assembly of God church. During that address, Palin portrayed the Iraq was as a quest decreed by God, and said that U.S. soldiers were carrying out “God’s plan”:
Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God. That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.
During that speech, Palin also promoted a $30-billion natural gas pipeline project, stating, “God’s will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built.”

Isolated. ..wow. The mere fact you believe our (The US) dirt is "isolated" says enough. Bet you think we didn't have 9/11 coming either.

oh yeah, i knew crazy muslims were going to kill innocent people by flying planes into buildings. you didnt see that coming?

Crazy Christians simply do it better and with a lot more flash

Compare the Islamic-led flying of planes into WTC and Pentagon only notched 2800 dead - versus the Christian(BushCo)-led carpet bombing of Iraq during the spring of 2003 where tens of thousands of men, women and children were incinerated.

I think we can all agree that when someone gets their mind set on mass killing, religious foundations are pretty much irrelevant.

Indeed, i am a Pitt fan although strangely enough im a PSU grad. Didn't apply to Pitt because i didnt want to live in the city anymore. As far as this Bowl game goes, i would have to take the sucker bet and take the 9.5 and bump it to +10. I just dont think the Trojans will be able to score enough points to get that much seperation. Last time the Tojans faced a QB this quick was last year in Eugene and that outcome wasnt a positive one for Caroll and those boys.

Maybe some of you know this answer, but who said this and when?

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.
The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.
A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.
No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.

Fantastic post. Churchill was a brilliant man.

Fletch, really...don't try to match USC Football knowledge with me ok? I'll just leave it at that.

Since you called me out on USC earlier this season, and confident enough about YOUR team's speed let's make a wager on it. I already know where I stand with em.

Penn state isnt my team, im not sure why your having trouble with this. And as far as <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:stockticker>USC</st1:stockticker> football goes, i don’t deny your knowledge of it… im talking football in general. I mean, hell, my GF went to <st1:stockticker>PSU</st1:stockticker> as well and she knows about <st1:stockticker>PSU</st1:stockticker> football, but football in general? Not so much. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Well considering this is a "political" forum, I keep off topics simple as to not hijack the thread; even though, this is starting to. You wanna match footbal wits? Meet me in the other CFL & NFL forums and we can trade punches all bowl season, post season and into the offseason. And especially against you? I'd take pleasure in doing it too. Who you kidding Fletch? This is a sports handicapping website. However unlike yourself, who decided to troll in strictly political forums (who's popularity until now wan't all that much), I don't give that much credence in your sports knowledge anyway.

And as for the bet? I take it you don't want any part of it. Even though, ya know, lol...SC's defense hasn't seen this much ground speed since the Beavers.

I'm sure you'd hammer Stanford and UCLA had they been playing SC in a bowl game too right?

You have a fucking Trojan logo for your avatar, enough said. :homer:

I made a simple yet UNBIASED statement about <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:stockticker>PSU</st1:stockticker> getting little respect when in fact they are just as good as <st1:stockticker>USC</st1:stockticker> this year. <st1:stockticker>PSU</st1:stockticker> has a better offense, anyone suggesting otherwise should be beaten with a sack of batteries. As far as the defenses go, i would give the edge to 'SC but not by a wide margin. Not by wide enough of a margin to make them a 10 point fav. Anything over 6 to me is a joke, hence this is still a home game and cross country trip for the lions. <st1:place><st1:placeName>Ohio</st1:placeName> <st1:placeType>State</st1:placeType></st1:place> doesnt have the speed <st1:place><st1:placeName>Penn</st1:placeName> <st1:placeType>State</st1:placeType></st1:place> does, so using that as a gauge is silly. Now as far as me being here... i cap my own games, and read some other guys stuff on here from time to time, but this is a way for me to kill some time at work. In other words i dont have to post my plays to seek out attention, im just content to bet my games and grind out a nice return at the end of each month. Now why you take pleasure in the hopes of proving me wrong is something you will have to figure out on your own. And speaking of football knowledge, can you please show me where a Pac 10 foe can play another Pac 10 foe in a bowl game? You PAC-10 Yoda you. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
So if you want to give me <st1:stockticker>PSU</st1:stockticker> +10, ill take the bait.
