D-Unit Play. #927. Take Houston Astros (-125) Over Chicago White Sox (Friday @ 8:00 pm est)We like the Astros today to get the job done. They headed into the All Star break on a 3 game losing streak and have just a 3.5 lead over the A's for 1st in the division. They will send McCullers on the mound today who has been arguably their ace on the staff this year as he comes in with a 6-2 record 2.94 ERA. In his career vs the White Sox he is 3-1 with a 2.37 ERA. He took a tough loss his last time out against Oakland allowing only 2 runs but taking the loss. I expect another solid performance from him here again today and get back in the win column. The White Sox will send Cease to the mound who is having a career year, however he has struggled in his career vs the Astros posting a 0-2 record with a 7.71 ERA. The White Sox headed into the break on a 5 game win streak, hence the reason they are the trendy dog here today. I think the Astros coming off 3 losses in a row, will show up here today with McCullers on the mound. The Astros are favored for a reason here on the road and we like them to get it done today.

The worst thing that happen to the Cincinnati Reds was the all-star break because this team was the hottest team in baseball heading into the all-star break. It is now time for the Reds to make their move in the NL Central and it can start tonight as the Brewers are just 4 games ahead of them in the standings. Both pitchers are having good years, but Tyler Mahle has been a strikeout machine and has issued less walks per inning. Let’s see if Cincinnati can continue the hot hand. Take the Reds.
