st - Time for some Friday picks....I'm hoping Platinum Bombshell stretches effectively off the claim in the opener. 6-2-5. Platinum Bombshell chased off a gold rail on January 9th in her last start.
nd - Dear to All is much the horse to beat first time for a tag for Tony Dutrow in the 2nd, but I will also use Radiant Cut, who took no money last time after running very well on pace that fell apart in her prior start.
rd - I will use the inside three horses in the 3rd in the Pick-5. I don't trust Street Thug, who while he can win, has had two straight very easy trips. Poliziano was best last time, but it wasn't a great field. I put Denzel on top, but obviously distance is a question.
th - The 4th is a bit of a head hurter, and I cannot put Dance I Can or Iratinelexburance on top. How about Lady C Note as the highest price of the contenders? Hard to make a case for anyone outside of those three.
th - Market Blaster should appreciate the drop second off the layoff in the 5th. I wish Stealth Steed would run, so his price would be better but he will likely scratch for Saturday. If he scratches, Upward becomes the main danger.
th - The 6th is a fun race, and while I prefer dropdown Darling Bridezilla, who was close to the collapsed pace in her last, a very tough race, I will also use E Z Passer, who gets a serious rider change and has been in good form. 5-6-4-1.
th - I could live or die in the Pick-4 with Eye Luv Lule and Choctaw Chuck in the 7th. Best horse and a wildcard.
th - It's tough for me to take Chrisandlorisposse in the 8th after betting him at 8:1 last time, so I went to Piscesbymoonlight. Last time he stretched out 2nd off a layoff he ran a fourth that would beat this field ( 6/21 ). Either of his 3rd or 4th back would be tough here.
th - I went 1-7-8 in the finale, but the more I look, I think I will go 1-8-7, as Sals Wonderfulgirl was poor last time. Nothing clever. At least it will be warmer, with a lot less wind, going forward....until Monday. I sure hope it warms up for Belmont! Good luck.
