But he has a captive audience, and an easily influenced one at that...students. You really want to go with that one and let him keep brainwashing kids?
No, of course not. All this exposure that he's getting only
emboldens him. He knows there will be no repercussions for
his actions. As for brainwashing kids minds, he's just a drop
in the bucket. Many more where he comes from. The only way
to solve the problem is for parents to not send their kids to
Fresno State. What do you think the odds are of that happening?

Actually, I think all the attention this matter has gotten is a good thing in this situation. He went too far and even those on his side of the aisle are upset with it. Based on comments from some of the students and people that work at the university, he's put the college under a microscope at this point, and the other professors have essentially toned down the rhetoric big time. Needless to say, I hope the guy gets fired and if he is in this country on a green card, sent packing. One of the students said this was a good teaching moment, and they are understanding that freedom of speech does have some limits, and that you can't get away with making incendiary statements like that about the President of your country. I also think someone like that is dangerous. It's one thing for me to have a conversations with my kids (which I did from time to time) when some professor was trying to steer them in one direction (making sure they heard both sides of an argument), it's completely another when one is encouraging the assassination of a President. I hope the President of the University treats this in the same manner that would have been expected had he said Obama should be hung.

Fresno State professor’s classes canceled after Trump tweets

Fresno State officials announced Thursday that upcoming classes taught by Dr. Lars Maischak have been cancelled “in an effort to minimize disruption and ensure campus safety.”

Maischak is the university lecturer who landed in hot water for violent tweets directed at Pres. Donald Trump, including that the president “must hang” to save American democracy.

All of Maischak’s classes on Monday and Tuesday have been cancelled, with 213 affected students informed via email Thursday. Maischak currently teaches five sections of History 11, which covers American History to 1877.
“Students were also informed that additional information about these courses will be shared with them on Tuesday, April 18,” according to a university statement.

Maischak has received death threats and hundreds of hate emails since the tweet was highlighted by Breitbart News.
"I regret making these tweets," Maischak told the Associated Press. "I wrote them to an audience of 28 followers on Twitter under the assumption they would be read by people I know."

The AP also reported that Maischak had temporarily left Fresno during spring break.

Maischak said he is under federal investigation and is keeping the Secret Service abreast of his whereabouts.

"I am not in Fresno. I fear for my life," he said.

Maischak deleted his Twitter account on Wednesday and says he is prepared to take full responsibility for his statements.

Poor guy. My heart bleeds for him. After all he did apologize. What a terrible way to treat this poor victim. He might lose his job and be deported. Where's the "Leave Britney Alone guy when you need him?
