Just curious sinced its been claimed many times, but I cant find any history on the switch... Did it happen before the civil war? Right before the civil rights in the 1960's? The beginning of WW2 when Democrats in power put Japanese Americans in camps?

The.North was mostly republican and the south Democrat. That has changed.. So what happened? Did their stances flip flop?

I don't know, did they?

Let's take a look at the Electoral map of 1976, for example. Should have been enough time for this big switch to kick in, correct? If so, how do you explain this?

Gee...looks to me like Jimmy Carter (a dimocrap) swept the entire south, including every single former confederate state (sans Virginia).

Is your next step to claim the big switch happened in the 1980s?

Haha, the entire country "switched" during the 1980s, and what a decade it was!

There wasn't a specific date or time frame, there was a definite switch in party over time. There is no denying that the North was more LIBERAL Republican and the south was CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATS>

Yes, political parties evolve their platforms over time. It has happened many times throughout world history.

However, you've made the claim that Republicans adopted the dim platform, including and especially the racist views. I've given you evidence (along with several others) that no such thing happened, So let's stay on topic.

Do you have any evidence to support your claim, or are you ready to waive the white flag?

What do you meant the Republicans didn't develop a dem platform. The Dems were conservative and the repubs were liberals that has definitely flip flopped. As far as the racism part I'm not talking a politician, I'm talking more of the republican supporters, not all of them but I bet ya if ya made a poll on who would like slavery back I'd be willing to bet it would be 99 percent republican who would be for it not like it was years ago

How the GOP became the “White Man’s Party”

Link: http://www.salon.com/2013/12/22/how_the_gop_became_the_white_mans_party/

"The 1964 presidential election marked the beginning of the realignment we live with today. Where in 1962 both parties were perceived as equally, if tepidly, supportive of civil rights, two years later 60 percent of the public identified Democrats as more likely to pursue fair treatment, versus only 7 percent who so identified the Republican Party. What happened?"

You obviously know next to nothing about politics or history to dismiss those facts and analysis as some sort of fake news.

It's urban voters vs suburban and rural voters, it's NOT north vs South

And if any demographic is racist and / or simplistic in the ballot booth, I'm going to suggest it's demographics that vote 90+% for one party year after year after year, and none of those demographics are Republican (one of those demographics just happens to be the people that report the news to you)

The democratic party is a coalition of special interests / victims. Everybody with their hand out wanting something from the federal government.

Labor unions, minimum wages and government contracts and government regulations
Teachers' unions, no school choice, they want government to protect their jobs
Welfare recipients, continuous and ever increasing public assistance, unyielding support for fraudulent and criminal activity (these programs are ABUSED)
Victims, people who blame society for their shortcomings and people who democrats bend over backwards for while they trample the rights of others
Environmentalists, LGBT, Women's March, BLM, OWS, essentially everyone that claims to be oppressed and wants government to take from somebody else and give to them

The Republican coalition consists of people who want to adhere to the Constitution (A/K/A conservatives), people who want a smaller federal government, lower taxes, fewer regulations and support strong national security measures. I mostly want government to stay out of the way. I don't believe the fucking idiots that reside in DC can micro manage the world, they can't even balance their own checkbook. They're not saviors, they're assholes.

To sum it up (paraphrasing)

JFK "a rising tide raises all boats"

Reagan, "Government is the problem, businesses are the solution"
Obama, "Government is the solution, businesses are the problem"

polar opposite beliefs, polar opposite results, go figure

If you want a color blind society, you have to stop using race and sex and religion to divide us. But the democrats use race and sex and religion to divide us because they need wedge issues. It's the only way they retain any power
