wnyx_radio,

You're right, Gerrard is indeed playing tomorrow. Arsenal v Liverpool in the Champions League?? News to me! :)

From Sportinglife.com:

Captain and key midfielder Steven Gerrard has recovered from a knee injury and will play for Liverpool in the Barclays Premiership match at Wigan on Saturday.

Robbie Fowler is in line to start his first match since returning to the club, with fellow striker Peter Crouch out with a heel injury.

Spanish midfielder Luis Garcia had a 45-minute run-out with the reserves last night but his knee injury flared up and he will not figure, while full-back Stephen Warnock is ruled out with a groin strain.

Wigan manager Paul Jewell faces a striker crisis ahead of the clash.

Jason Roberts serves the second of a three-match suspension, David Connolly and Lee McCulloch are injured, while on-loan Neil Mellor is ineligible as he cannot play against his current employers.

Jewell is hoping Henri Camara will return from African Nations Cup duty, but after playing for Senegal in Thursday's third-place play-off defeat to Nigeria, there are no guarantees. To add to Jewell's troubles right-back Pascal Chimbonda misses his first league game through suspension.

Teams:

Wigan (from): Pollitt, Jackson, De Zeeuw, Henchoz, Teale, Johansson, Kavanagh, Mahon, Francis, Scharner, Thompson, Bullard, Baines, Ziegler, Camara, Walsh.

Liverpool (from): Dudek, Finnan, Kromkamp, Carragher, Agger, Hyypia, Riise, Traore, Gerrard, Alonso, Hamann, Sissoko, Kewell, Morientes, Fowler, Cisse, Carson.

do you honestly expect real or zaragossa to show up today..i dont see a chance for them to win 5-0..for me the first leg result makes it more of a friendly game, which, as we all know, is mostly unpredictable.

I actually think that Real Madrid will give it a try! At least they field a pretty strong team:

Real Madrid: Casillas; Salgado o Cicinho, Sergio Ramos, Woodgate, Roberto Carlos; Beckham, Gravesen, Guti o Baptista, Zidane, Robinho y Ronaldo.

The price is now 1.76 @ Pointbet and 1.77 @ Gamebookers, so someone must agree with me. :)

Still early especially when laying over a goal, but it looks like one of the two didn't show up for the first 15 minutes.

duck, what swayed you against schalke? Is it the german teams track record at the uefa cup and the fact that they are (or should we say have been?) bet heavily there?

also, why roserborg, besides their very mediocre performance to say the least this year, they got a ton of absences, haven't played in a long while (which is also the case for zenit) and one of their major advantages that is the climate over at trodheim is actually neutralized by the fact that the russians are familiar with similar if not worse weather conditions. And their record with teams from the former ussr is horrible too. With all that in mind i almost bet the other side of what you are on, only stopping by the fact tha you never know what to expect from both teams having been inactive for so long.

The price had moved too much imo, therefore I didn't see much value in Schalke -0.75 anymore.

Rosenborg don't have a ton of absences: "Only" Robbie Russell, Thorstein Helstad and Harald Martin Brattbakk are unavailable. They're highly motivated for this match and I think the Russians will be satisfied with a 0-1 or 1-2 loss. Anyway, the line movements have gone against me on this one which doesn't make me feel too comfortable...

"They're highly motivated for this match" That's something that I was unaware of and of course that can make or break a game, did you get this from the local newsmedia duck? "Rosenborg don't have a ton of absences" That was a needless exaggeration on my part, admittedly. Isn't Helstad that young lad that roseborg have high hopes for that got injured during the game with olympiakos? "and I think the Russians will be satisfied with a 0-1 or 1-2 loss" Very possible. "the line movements have gone against me on this one which doesn't make me feel too comfortable..." Prima facia not a good sign, but a lot remains to be seen.
