not saying the ACC is better than the SEC but the SEC has lived off of their rep this year. Florida is very good and Bama is too but after that its been a mediocre league. FSU is the strongest team to me in the ACC and to me I would put them around 3 in the SEC.

Maryland lost to MTSU... they're really not that good... they could have lost half of the games they won easily... but again, that's shoulda coulda woulda... Sorry guys, I'm just not that impressed with Florida State... Florida's speed is going to slash up that FSU defense that is supposed to be good.

Why do you keep bringing up the MTSU game? It was one game? Do you see me hammering the fact that Wyoming beat Tennessee at Tennessee? Do you see me hammering the fact that Lousianna Tech beat Miss. St.? Do you see me hammering the fact that the ACC's worst team, Duke, beat the 3rd place team in the SEC East at home?

You're very astute.

That's why you don't base everything on trends, which I didn't.

:nohead: your a funny puppy!!!! :lolBIG::lolBIG: to everyone on this game but i have not seen anything yet to change my mind-considering the fact that i do not believe that the acc is no where near the conf as the sec! I guess we will see!!!! Lets just set back and watch a good game and :drink:!!!

Here's the difference.. Tennessee is at the bottom of the SEC... Maryland on the other hand was 1 win away (FSU) from winning the conference... That's my point. Duke also lost their QB which is likely the best QB in the conference. Duke is most certainly not the worst team in the ACC. They would have beaten both Clemson and VT had they had him in the game... no doubt.

Wow. I want whatever you're taking.

Duke QB best in conference.

You really should just stick to being the SEC cheerleader.

________________________________________

Duke has virtually NO running game, yet Thaddeus Lewis is able to put up outstanding stats. Think ab out if Lewis had the recievers that Cullen Harper has... he'd light up everyone. He is certainly one of the best if not the best QBs in the ACC... The only statistically better QB is Cullen Harper. Russell Wilson doesn't throw the ball too often so I'd take Lewis over him also. Stats don't lie and he's in the top 3 in the three main categories... next question.

Russell Wilson is far and away the best QB in the conference. In a draft I would probably take Lewis behind Wilson Crane and Yates. Why we are talking about this in this thread I do not know...

Sagarin is based on equations from stats that are meaningless.. I'm talking about on field production as far as QBs.. not as far as which team is better than the other. I think Stats is a very good indicator in comparing quarterbacks... it's not in picking the top teams. If it was a good indicator then Ohio State wouldn't have played for the national championship the last two years and neither would Oklahoma 4 years ago when Auburn should have played in it. Enough of this conversation, it's going off on tangents when the topic of discussion was would Florida cover.. so in short... yes they will.

So then you agree with the Sagarin that the ACC is better than the SEC?

(Before you retort, Sagarin is based purely on statistics)

Florida will take those statistics and shove them up FSU's ass....hope you enjoy the game...:toast:

The ACC is a joke. Sagarin having them #1 is a testament to computer error.

I'm on Florida...big.

As for the never more than 10pts, is Bowden going to resurrect one of his teams from the 90's? You might have an argument there. FSU is better than they were last year, but they still arent a good team. Their OL is young, undersized, and lacking depth, they aren't that good rushing the ball as evidenced by their kicker being their leading rusher vs BC. Their secondary is the same as last year - they got torched by UF. The down 7 are as undisciplined as ever and they are weak at tackle. FSU will have to play the best they have played in a few years and UF will have to have multiple turnovers and play worse than they did vs Ole Miss for FSU to win. The Noles managed a paltry 12pts against the worst Gator D in maybe 30 years. This year's defense is a lot better and deep.

I'm saying if someone wants to take UF. You win, I no longer show up. I win, whoever takes UF doesn't show up. I'm just tired of the arrogance of SEC fans and gator fans (I'm not even an FSU fan).

This thread turned into a joke... Florida in a slaughter-fest over FSU. Tebow will have another 5-6 tds and Def/ST gets two more. No way FSU hangs with the talent of the Gator team. I will base my opinion on what I see week in and week out and that is the Gators putting up ridiculous amount of points.

GOOOOO GATORS!!!!! :toast:

FYI(I'm not a fan of either also)

I'm not a gator fan.. what's your point? I would say I get sick of the arrogance of ACC fans but you guys are 1-6 (or 1-7) in the last few BCS bowls so you guys really don't have anything to be arrogant about.

Puppy sorry to inform you but no one gives enough of a shit about you to care whether you post again or not. There are a handful of people here that get that kind of cred.

but in reply, I don't care if you show up or not.. but to me it's almost arrogant to think that FSU will cover when no other team that Florida has played has covered.. simply because they are in the mighty ACC....

You're right. You can probably "bend" the 15-5 ATS record for home teams in the series. You can probably "bend" the fact that Bowden hasn't lost to a Gator team by more than 10. You can probably "bend" the fact that FSU only gives up 2.4 ypr at home.

So, yeah, you win. ESPN articles > ATS and statistics.

Genius.

I would be on the same side as you saying FSU is the play here, BUT those stats ARE completely useless and mean nothing to whoever covers this game. History means zero. Just because something happened before does not mean it will happen again. I could find trends to lean to both sides if I wanted. Those were different years, different situations and different teams. Means nothing when talking tomorrow's game.

I'm saying a Florida win by about 10-13 tomorrow. Fl St is overrated imo, but they still come away with a cover.
