Good luck Co-Captain... I was quite similar to you in that I started just posting my selections to help some people out, but after getting documented over at Wagerline and producing a positive record in every sport I bet, and absolutely killing college hoops this year -- I got some emails of people wanting me to join their services and/or people wanting to pay me to privately email my selections.

I have nothing against this line of work at all if you are honest about it, and you seem to be. While you don't keep track of your record in the best possible manner, that is never a problem because you don't bash other's selections and you aren't "advertising" for your services everytime you turn around.

As people have probably seen from the Jim Feist's of the world, there is a lot of money to be made in bombarding advertisements and shady record-keeping. As long as you aren't one of those guys, its hard to fault you for accepting money for your services.

Good luck to you in your endeavours

Co-Captain, I will support you in whatever you do. You and a few others did help me make a little cheese in the baskets. I have a decent opinion on college football but we can always use other opinions from successful people. You have always conducted yourself in a gentlemanly and curteous manner. I pay for all of The Gold Sheet publications that have taught me so much over the years so if you can make a little bit of money by helping others with your insights then go for it. I really feel like that we have become friends and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do. I have your email and you have mine so lets keep in touch. LT

Captain:

First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you for all that you have selflessly contributed to these forums on a daily basis. The amount of time and effort that you have freely contributed to the RX should be appreciated by all. Wins and losses will come and go, but your generosity of giving is beyond reproach and can never be questioned.

Your thread today is very consistent with the events this oldman recalls when the RX went down one Saturday and you began to try and find a way to help your fellow posters receive your plays. And I recall SportsSavant assisting you in trying to learn how to provide your e-mail address out of a thread topic and into the bottom bar. I too would not know how to do this. It was an honest attempt at trying to help your fellow posters once again.

Further, I completely understand that feeling of helping fellow posters, particularly as they respond back to you that you have helped them or saved them from making a bad choice. It is intoxicating and does make one feel good and I believe you when you say that you fed off that positive feedback because I feel the same way as well. Nothing greater then hearing from a fellow poster who you have helped.

As for whether or not you decide to accept an opportunity to either be part of a group service or go out on your own, I support your right to make that choice. If one has a product or service to sell that others may be interested in purchasing, then that person should have every right to try and see if their product or service is marketable. After all this country was built by entrepreneurs who started with nothing but an idea and together, over time, have built this country into what it is today, although not perfect by any means, still globally respected for it's industrial accomplishments.

Should you decide to try this new endeavor, I want to wish you all the best and hope for your success. As this oldman does at times, I would only provide you with a word of caution that being involved in the service industry or going it alone should not be underestimated. Trust me when I tell you that it will not be easy to be successful in that business but with proper dedication, determination and honesty, one can make a good living if they are patient and have a long view to the future. Success will not happen overnight as nothing worthwhile comes easy.

Captain, whatever you decide to do, this oldman will support both your decision and your right to make that decision. Regardless, as I stated at the beginning of this reply, your time, effort, energy and all that you have provided selflessly to this forum should be appreciated by your fellow members, posters and viewers.

Wishing you the very best in making your decision..............Ted

Point is, people have been reading him in college hoops, so that's where it should stay. Sometimes over the course of hundreds of threads there'll be a couple that go off topic, that's only natural.

The reason I asked is because you said you would produce it at the end of the year. Not to burst your bubble, but I don't need anything from you, and I could never play the way you do as I have a REAL bankroll that I deal with each year. Also, I don't think you need to send me your write-ups so I can LEARN from you. Just a little info for you, I have kept track of all your plays and as of Feb 29 I have you 300 wins and 303 losses for a NEGATIVE 59.6 units (INCLUDING VIG).By the way, why do you need to re-post some reply's? We can all read here. Thanks.

nysports...whats up dan ? long time no see...shot me an e-mail when you have some time...

on another note, actually i have co-captain at 299-304-5 year to date (-60 units) which is almost identical to what you have...funny how i'm not the only one tracking people here...and i guess we both know why co-captain pretends that the cbb season has 8 weeks in total...but no big deal...

Jaypaw...I know you didn't ask me, but I will tell you something about your record, only because you took it the wrong way the last time when i posted in your thread about your big chalk plays. You can be one of the better cappers around, but the chalk and the teasers killed you. Trust me, your record would not be bad at all if it wasnt for those sucker plays...Please don't take it as bashing, because it isn't. And I wasn't bashing the last time either...good luck.

How have you been? I've somehow lost your email, if you have mine, drop me a line. If not, get it from Larry. Amazing how some people just can't add. Really don't care, but find it very comical at times. By the way, how's the little one?

CBB POD Recap

The idea of doing came from Kodak7, he suggested it in the College Football Forum before he was banned for a few weeks. I just picked up on the idea and started one for CBB. It was much easier to determine who to follow and who to fade as we only had 1 pick per week and more people posted for the entire season. With respect to CBB the good fade cappers would drop out so we were left with a few good cappers and many 50/50 people like me.

As you can all see it is very difficult to just pick one game as your pick of the day. I followed 2 services free pick for almost one year, college and pro, including baseball and they only hit 40% right and I faded them every day. It is much easier to win money by fading a person than following them. (my opinion, and has made me much more money)

I hope that no one take’s any offence to any of recaps that I post, and remember that they only reflect what was posted here. Also note that many of the cappers records would be better than what they show here (would have won more money) because I used the closing line rather than the line that they posted. I would always piss me off to hear some professional tout saying that he won a game by 6, claiming he got 5 ½ when the line at the time he posted was 7 or higher. And I wanted the members of the group to take advantage of all the picks if they followed the capper as well. But with that in mind here’s the results.

We had over 120 cappers from the RX Forum post the POD thread, with 1720 picks, 896 wins and 824 losses for a 52% win record.

Win dollars were based on $110 dollar bet per game>

YTD Win Dollars – The three cappers that you would have won the most money on following were:

Tigerclicks $1310
Wonderdog $1290
Jimmymo $1100 (Tied for the College Football POD 1st Place)

But if you look at the individual picks of these 3 people Wonderdog stands out as the Top Capper in the POD. He had many great quality picks.

Last 40+ Day Win Dollars

Tigerclicks $1300
Co-Captain $1080

Tigerclicks started picking about 40 games before the end of the season and stayed consistent thoughout the period and gets the bracket win.

Winning dollars during playoff’s - The last couple of days the RX Forum as down most of the time so many people could not post, and we only had a couple very late yesterday after the best games had already started so I didn’t count it. But the two top were

Jimmymo $500
Demon919 $390

Best Come Back

Co-Captain - The captain started out at 33% as was one of my best cappers to fade, but closed out the season at 67%, and 53% for the season and was very solid at the end.

Now here’s were we made the most money. Best fades. Had you bet against these cappers you would have won the most money.

YTD

Kodiak7 $1170

Last 40 days Best Fades

Fivedorsdown $970
Buffalobill $660

Best Fade in Playoff

Sweeptheboard $440
Espnted $330

Well that's it guys, the stats are posted in the Handicapping zone for those that want to keep a copy for their records. I do not plan to do the CBB next year, but I will do the College Football. Good luck to all of you during MM. I looking forward to meeting a couple of our cappers that will be here this week.

Please feel free to post any comment you like, or your thoughs of the thread.

TigerVen,

How you doing my friend. I hope everything is alright with your back. I know personally how it can be a real pain(no pun intended), to get around. I once had an injury as well with my lower back as I injured it while powerlifting. Dam, the worst part was trying to sit to take a dump. What a painful headache in itself. LOL....I hope you get better real soon and stay healthy. GL and Aloha CC.

TigerVen,

It is a curse. Fvck I am long freakin winded. I need to take the wind out of my sails as my mentor once told me..LOL...Sometimes just so hard to change. But I am working on it. Just like how I am working on trying to not let things get to me so much, so fast. I apologize for us getting off on the wrong foot. I got caught in some mentally draining issues here and there, and I unfairly pulled you in to my mess. I am SORRY for my weakness and my lack of respect for you as a person. Pleas accept my SINCERE APOLOGY. Aloha CC.

It's been a pleasure sharing information with you, you are a great capper and I agree with what you're doing because you will still continue to make you and your client some $$
Gotta take care of yourself and I wish you much luck on your venture.
