Not sure if ITALY is even overrated.........they are not considered a remote threat by most right?

13.Italy
19.Germany

Tell that to FIFA.

Augustus,
No. My only bet in the past 5 months has been on Argentina to win the WC. They've won 4 of the past 6 junior championships and have, in large part, that same young team.

I think England and Italy were/are both overrated.

Italy has an easy path to semi-final. Australia, Switzerland or Ukraine can't stop them.

I like GERMANY, NETHERLANDS, BRAZIL, and ARGENTINA.............these are the FOUR best teams that I have seen.

Please note, watched ONE soccer game in its entirity before this world cup and have watched no less than 12 in the past 2 weeks so this is a very unbiased and educated(i think) opinion.

Your not a sports fan then.

ALL big league/big time sports are GREAT in my opinion.

To make a statement that "hockey blows" is ridiculous in my opinion.

Come down to Tampa and I will treat you to a LIGHTNING game........just dont bring that boozer Illini with you.

:lolBIG: I'll bring Illini. Just givin' you a hard time man...keep viking off the sauce BTW. that gets ugly

Anyone think Portugual can make a deep run? They certainly have the talent, but seem to have the least team concept of any of the teams that I've watched (especially Christiano Renaldo)

Look at the Argentina's performance for matches outside the America continent for the past 15 years, I doubt that they can beat Germany in quarter-final, Italy in semi-final and then the winner of Brazil/Spain/Netherlands in the final.

Good for you Fish, its just that if some of these posts were the NFL equivailent they would be in the Rubber Room in no time. Your post of the Four best is like saying that New England, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and Denver are your best in the AFC.:103631605

You should be England's biggest critic, because they are painful to watch

and youre calling out others as "squares" when your nothing but a homer

but its undertandable, once every four years, right?:toast:

I think Portugal and Netherlands match will end with a 0-0 or 1-1 draw. The winner will be decided by penalty shut out.

Portugal's performace in the past 10 world cup tournaments does not convince me that they can make it to the quarterfinal.

You are correct Sir :103631605 but I seriously dont think there is much between all these teams, Ive watched too much soccer over the years to buy into what looks a good team. They all have weaknesses and throw in dodgy officials and anything can and will happen. I do believe this is Englands best chance for decades, they have in Midfield several World Class players where they could do without strikers if it wasnt so imprinted. :drink:

Remember--there will be some serious upsets.

If it was possible for these teams to play for 3 to 4 hours the best team would usually win.

But in a 90 minute match anything can happen.

90 minutes--not a lot of time in soccer. If you've ever bet on a team and they fall behind by a goal you know what I mean.
